Hi all

I wanted to let anybody considering ordering shoes or clothes from Sanwei of my recent experience.

I also wanted to see what @Andrea Jiang had to say on the matter.

Following the recent thread on great shoes and the recommendations, I ordered a pair from the Sanwei site - my normal size in Butterfly / Mizuno. They arrived but were a size too big. I asked about returns and indications were that they would accept a return, so I ordered another pair in the size down (great shoes by the way)

Today they sent me a message telling me a return needed to be arranged either by me at my cost, or they would do it at a cost of around $80 - all to be borne by me as there was nothing wrong with the product. So essentially nearly the full cost of the shoes..

My view is that if they are going to promote products outside of China and into Europe/UK/US and sell online, that they should also be ready to offer reasonable return terms OR make very clear on purchase that any returns are for the account of the buyer - in which case I would not have purchased these.

So - caveat emptor, if you buy from these guys just know you need to be certain of size/fit etc.

Peter

Aww that is really sad. I wish they would distribute the shoes at European sellers like spin factory or at mocker etc. That could solve this headache somewhat.
I was lucky somewhat that I ordered 255mm and that is perfect for me.

Glad you find the shoes good tho. Maybe try to shift it to a club mate whom it fits. I think they look great so it might sell itself 😏

The amount of stuff I sell just by people coming to me asking what I use is significant 😂

The same thing happened to me. The shoe size information on the website is wrong. There is a note on the shoe itself with the correct shoe sizes. It also matches my measurement.
The mistake is clearly on the Sanwei side.

Wow - very interesting spot. So a 44, which I always assume is a UK 9 or 9.5, is in fact a 10 in Sanwei world.

That does explain why I have to size down 1.

How did you resolve, if you did?

Thank you.

They wrote me the same as you. Pay 80 usd for the return shipment or take care of it yourself.
I am still hoping for a better solution.

I just sent them another note with the picture attached and pointing out the sizing discrepancy. I am hoping that @Andrea Jiang sees this as she is actively promoting their products on here.

i also thought actually to buy and try them, they are a rebranded model of the speedart shoe that cost way more then the sanwei product and looks so nice. i normally wear the mizuno wave drive 8/9 but sometimes they are a little slippy when you don't play on proper floors and i heard the speedart/sanwei are much better? is that so?with mizuno i have 25.5 / 40 so i should buy 40 from sanwei too then

@Wrighty67 i am sorry, stuff like this sucks, i hope you can figure it out! this discussion really helped for future buyers

The grip on these is amazing. Much better than Wave Medal 6 or Wave drive 6 or Lezoline etc (they are not even the same ballpark). Never had a shoe that gripped as well as this Sanwei / Speed art and on all kind of floors too.
The product is excellent.

I have to agree. I got speedart for 6 month now. I never had to use a wet towel to clean my shoes for grip which is rather common in germany, while other people had to.

I really dig the light texture like the old chinese sport shoes from school.

Hope it works out somehow. The size of speedart was identical to EU norm.

I don't wanna stir shit even more but my shoe tongue says 41, I bought it as 255mm and in the confirmation mail it was 41. The sizing is true, it is like 255mm in Mizuno or whatever else. (I don't pay much attention to US or EUR sizing, they should be removed in my opinion)
Manufacturers should label length width and maybe even height in mm, imagine how nice that would be.

Please don't worry, I saw it and I promise SANWEI will fix it.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I fully understand your frustration and concern. Although I am not part of the sales department and am not fully aware of the specifics of this case, I assure you that I will be involved in this matter and see it through to the end. As a sports enthusiast myself, I can relate to the importance of having properly fitting shoes for an optimal athletic experience.

Back in high school, I was a member of my school’s soccer team and wore Nike size 44 shoes. Once, I tried to buy a brand that wasn’t available in China through an international order. I chose the same size, but when the shoes arrived, I found that their size 44 was slightly larger than my Nike shoes, which was quite disappointing. Since international returns were complicated at that time in China, I decided not to return them. I don’t want this kind of experience to happen to other sports enthusiasts.

On behalf of the marketing department, I apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced. I’ve noticed that some other customers have had similar issues, which indicates that this is an area Sanwei must address. I’ll make sure to bring this feedback to the manager in charge of the marketing team and work toward an effective solution.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback and your patience. I’ll keep you updated on our progress as we work to resolve this issue and improve our processes. Please rest assured that Sanwei is taking this seriously, and we are committed to finding a resolution that meets your expectations.
