If you look at the WTT Event Calendar for 2023, you will notice that the focus of WTT is only for youth & pro & non-veteran players.
This is perfectly fine & nothing wrong with focusing on the present & future.
And given that WTT seems to be only on Pro or future pro player development (again I don’t say anything is wrong with that) , why can’t the ITTF stop shoving the Pro focused & oriented rules & regulations down the throats of amateur competitive players ?
And to make thigs worse amateur players seem to think that what is good for the pro has to be good for them also but this is a sad myth,
I will give some examples.
When Adham Sharara passed the 40- celluloid ball rule (in his second attempt), all amateur tournaments big and small, switched to 40-ball, though 38 ball was still legal & some hardbat tournaments still to used 38 mm ball
Same story again with Adham Sharara transition from 40- celluloid ball to 40+ plastic ball. All the amateur tournaments switched to 40+ plastic ball despite severe loss of spin.
And though it is now well known that the 40+ ball was yet another blow to choppers (7th rule or regulation change since 1983 that fully or partially severely effected the choppers), ITTF went ahead passed their 8th rule change few days ago (December 6, 2022 AGM) to ensure that 40- celluloid ball will not attempt to come back, by officially removing all approval for celluloid balls.
Another example is high aspect ratio super long pips. It is now well known & understood & accepted by any openminded thinker that the long pips on current ITTF LARC are utterly useless in the 40+ plastic ball era. Yet amateurs & pro defenders alike seem to be under the sad delusion that the booster supremacists controlled ITTF cares about diversity & knows what is good for them.
So my point is this. Since WTT is not veteran & (amateur) participant focused & since equipment & playing requirements for amateurs can be and are different, why not use amateur & veteran oriented & participant oriented rules for ITTF and use whatever else rules you want to use for pros & future pros in WTT events.
I am by no means suggesting that WTT is not still oriented towards illegally boosted up 3rd ball & 5th ball attacks & chopper extermination which exactly don’t help promote spectator interest but ITTF rules, in addition to promoting amateur & veteran play can also be used in ITTF events as an experimental testing arena before those rules can be used at WTT events
If you look at the http://WdTTF.com rules, they are already designed like this for the most part.

I plead to ITTF to ban all pips & anti to release & set free all of ITTF's political prisoners (choppers / defenders)
