Introducing my first ever Hinoki blade.

When I was first bought this I thought it was a Butterfly model I didnt know.

Now I am quite sure its not a Butterfly. I think someone just stuck a logo there.
Butterfly only has Butterfly Tamaropa for its single ply hinoki model and this is not Tamaropa.

It has a teardrop shape to it, which is similar to TSP and YSP's single ply model. So that is the most likely brand i guess.

9mm thick, 84gm

Kawan, izinkan saya tumpang tanya kejap.

I have always been curious about the perfect round shape blade. What advantage does it confers over the more usual oval shape? Anyone can help answer?

Nice blade, but I don't know which model it is.

For my understanding a more oval shape is better suited to 1 ply blades because they are very flexy in parallel direction to the grain.

I ve made some single ply blades from Western red cedar and the longer but narrower model was the nicest to play.

With the racket standing:
The sweet spot gets bigger horizontally, but with the oval shape stretched vertically you move the center outwards yielding more momentum and the sweet spot gets bigger vertically.
You will be able to hit harder with a vertical shape. Think of the old Jpen blades being long and narrow, perfect for hard flat hits.

Cheers
