Hello everyone,

currently I have the following setup:
OSP Virtuoso Off- 85g
FH: Tibhar Hybrid K3 2.0mm
BH: Xiom Omega 7 Eur 2.0mm

Who am I: 28 years old, offensive gamestyle (both wings) from close to mid distance. I prefer to stand closer to the table.

I will keep the backhand rubber, I am thinking of switching my forehand rubber.

What do I not like about the K3?
Mostly the short durability, my K3 is still looking quite good after 3.5-4 months usage, but I can definitely feel the lack of spin being created, it feels kind of dead.
What I value about the rubber is its combination of control in the short game and its offensive potential in the other departments of the game. I like lighter rubbers more, it should not weigh more than 45g cut.

I have had struggles with the short game (skill issue) on my forehand side, using hybrid rubbers helped me in this regard. Other rubbers I have used and liked as well: Xiom Omega 7 Pro (2.0mm), Xiom C55 (similar to K3), Xiom Vega X. Rubbers which were too much for me: D09c (too hard, heavy, I am simply not good enough for this rubber), D05 (too bouncy, too fast, problems with incoming spin), Glayzer 09c (tried it on a slightly faster blade, but did not really like it because it felt kind of dead).

Maybe you can think of some rubber which would suit me? I understand there is no "perfect" rubber und you have to make a compromise. I am willing to give the Glayzer 09c another try, but I was thinking maybe T05 (though I fear my short game will be a problem again), otherwise maybe I would buy another sheet of K3 or try the Fastarc G-1.

Thanks,
David

G1 is great in the short game, it will give you a ton of touch and control on Virtuoso.

Most Xiom rubbers have catapulty sponges, so it is harder to serve/return short.

not really. all the Jekyll&Hyde rubbers are designed specifically with this problem in mind. can’t vouch for all of them, but at least C55 is great in this department. also O8P, but it takes a bit of getting used to. O7CG, too. but, C55 and O7CG are heavy rubbers, plus, O7CG can be problematic in other departments as it is really fast. linear, yes, but fast. if you play daily, you will survive. for us, playing two or three times a week, and a couple of tournaments per season, it’s way too much, unfortunately.

and, Vega Pro H is in the same compartment, but it is quite different to above mentioned (still love it, though, it is my backhand rubber for a while and I have a feeling it will stay there for a while).
