Switching from Hurricane to Dignics

I've been playing with hurricane 3 bs prov on forehand and hurricane 3 prov orange sponge for about 2 years. My technique has improved drastically thanks to the hurricane but I'm pretty much tired of having to boost them and would like something more "plug and play".
Also because they demand more power from the user I feel like if I could generate almost the same spin and get more power from a rubber like Dignics 05 that'd be better.
Is it bad to go from hurricanes to dignics 05 for example?

It’s probably better to go to Dignics 09C. You’ll have the similar Hurricane feeling with out the need to boost and it’s faster than hurricane with only slightly less spin. Dignics 05 is a good rubber but might take a long time to get used to

If you play with good technique you can use anything really. 09c is probably easier to transition from hurricane, but 05 is possible too.

Beware of the effect on the serve and receive game though, this is where I think the biggest differences lie.

I had this thought process many times before. whenever I use someone‘s racket with dignics or similar rubber, I get absolutely effortless topspins with same or even higher quality than hurricane. thats because I am not good enough to maximize h3 potential. its the advantage of using hurricane for a long time: every other rubber is suddenly super easy to play it its feels free to activate them

when it comes to matchplay though, those ESN/jap rubbers might let you down in serve receive. h3 is slow and easy to control in serve receive, and you are used to it after 2 years of using this rubber. most points are decided through serve receive, so its alot of work to relearn that part of the game with other rubbers. I‘d stick to hurricane, but if you must switch, go for dignics 09c.

Agree with above. I've played almost all H3 variants and T05, T05H D64, D05 and D09C. Personally I find D09C lacking power on FH when you play mid distance top spin rally. My background is H3 41 degree on FH. Hence I find D09C too soft on FH. It's perfect for BH.

Many don't know T05H is a great FH rubber. T05H is less bouncy than D05 in short game, equal to D09C. When you do FH drive T05H goes faster than D09C with similar spin. D09C and T05H share a similar sponge hardness.

how would you compare t05h to h3 and d09c?

how would you compare t05h to h3 and d09c?

I already compared D09C and T05H in the previous post. Both are excellent in short game is because Spring sponge (T05H) is less bouncy than Spring sponge X (D09C). But because the hardness is similar, when hit through T05H achieves higher speed (non tacky).

Nothing beats H3 in serve, short game and max spin.

Summary (assume H3 is 40 degree and boosted properly)
Serve and short game: H3 > T05H = D09C
Close to table speed: T05H>D09C > H3
Block: D09D = H3 > T05H
Lifting back spin: very similar but probably T05H is slightly inferior as it's the only non-tacky rubber
Top spin drive: T05H > D09C > H3 (T05H slightly easier than D09C)
Top speed: T05H > D09C > H3
Top spin: H3 > T05H = D09C

Don't rely on the numbers listed in the specifications. I'm another player who has always used Chinese rubber on my forehand since I started.

Sometimes I've considered switching to a hybrid rubber due to the inconsistency and rapid degradation of Chinese rubbers. However, hybrid rubbers simply can't replicate the unique feel and performance of Chinese rubbers.

But then, I discovered Xuperman PowerplayX 41-degree, and it has solved all these issues! It's more stable even when it degrades, easier to play than other Chinese rubbers, and it doesn't require the use of boosters
