so, what was your goals for 2024, and what has materialized?
and what is your goals for 2025?

I will start. for 2024.
other then the normal day to day table tennis, I wanted to promote Taiwan's table tennis, so my youtube channel focused a lot on that.
and I wanted to engage with European leagues and slowly that idea became a full flex agency in the last quarter of 2024.

on table tennis shop part, I sampled and bought in 2 brands into South Africa. Namely Loki and Double Fish.

For 2025.
Is to go even higher on the agency part, to bridge the gap between Taiwan and Europe (and possibly other places).
This for Taiwanese players (and other countries, ie New Zealand, Malaysia, Japan was also part of recent placements) to Europe and then European players to Taiwan for training camps.
This will be my main focus, and possibly few visits to Europe too.

Now is a bit under NDA to announce, but from 1 Feb, I will make an announcement too.

I turned 52 last year, but despite having started to play TT since I'm 15 and playing almost continuously since then, i'm probably at my best level ever, having improved a lot in 2024. All those coaching lessons finally giving dividends ? I want even more improvement in 2025, sky is the limit if the body is still working.

The main objective and highlight last year was ITTF World Masters in Rome. I went there with my coach GC Foerster, the defending 40+ champion. I was really afraid to not win even 1 game, but i managed to perform well above my expectations and win my group in 50+ with style ! quite proud of my tournament both in singles and doubles.

I'm also the manager of my team, and thanks to very good recruitment, our team has gone up in divisions across the various leagues. Leagues are only twice a year here (!!!)
and in the JTTA Tokyo League we went up 2 divisions (= can't do better) and will play in division 3 (lowest = 7) next year. With 2 aces in the team, and other players of good level to support, i hope we can climb even higher.
in STTA Tokyo league we're still only in division 4 (lowest = 5), and in the more local league we're in division 2 (lowest = 6) with a slightly different and weaker roster.

we hope to do well also in the national tournaments and all open tournaments. maybe we need a 3rd very strong player. and/or I will need to get stronger in time for those tourneys.

thanks coach !
i do believe in myself too.
many years ago, i thought i was totally capped despite my efforts, but maybe i didn't have the right coaches, nor the right environment (= not enough good regular training partners, not enough participation in competitions, YT/SNS resources were scarcer,...)

Now that all changed and its normal that progress is seen and given im still at a low level there is ample room for improvement.

quite a lot of Japanese and other SEA masters will come to Taiwan and play in Taiwan's tournament, just like recently you spotted the Taiwanese that visited Japan.
If you ever come to Taiwan - let me know!

So I counted 41 Taiwanese players, playing in Europe (not counting Asia or MLTT).
Playing in 8 countries (Germany, Austria, Spain, France, Czech, Portugal, Poland, Denmark)
Didn't realize it was that many players.

Of the 41 Taiwanese players there, I facilitated with the registration of 21 of them. Of the 20 that they did the trip themselves, I have heard one horror stories, meals is only bread (for 3 days straight) - so it is evidence, it is so important to communicate ahead of time and some times players, could be too young, or not sure they need to ask a lot of questions.

Putting Taiwanese players in Europe and putting European players in Taiwan sound like a great idea! The more training and the more exposure the better! Look forward to your announcement on Feb 1st.

So many things!

I want to replace some old habits and play relaxed, so I can hit through the ball much better.
I want to get promoted in league.
... I also want to get more involved with the club, I just don't know what that'll look like yet. We desperately need a better website so that might be a thing.
I want my daughter to get excited about playing matches, maybe start with league or a few tournaments.
I want to breach the next level of tournament licence, which also means I'll reach my highest rating yet
Ultimately, I want to stick to 1 setup for matches per season.

Until the first of July 2025, I promise myself not to try any new blades and rubbers (and I have more than one of those) and to play with my current table tennis setup :D
TTD is the wrong place to be, as there is way too much temptations.....
you playing with fire, haha

yes, our great minds think alike!

Taiwan has a great training structure, so much cheaper than China too.
But we don't have league structures, so this is where European leagues benefit us a lot. Especially exposure to Western styles and the mindset of league - away/home fixtures and the pressure with hundreds of fans very close to you (WTT the hall is way bigger)
And for Europeans to face Asian styles, Taiwan has a bit of what Japan and China has.

re the website, I actually wonder how some top clubs in Europe, have very poorly managed websites
including that of 2. BL clubs - where even today ,the team roster is from a year ago....

wish most of your check list gets ticked!
