The World Team Championships 2012 has already broken records on day 1!

The organisers at the World Team Table Tennis Championships on the 25th March 2012 were very pleased with the opening day! Representative Ute SCHAFER, the North-Rhine Westphalian Minister of Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sport expressed, "The biggest indoor sports event of the world has broken some records, never before there have been as many nations being represented. Until today there has never been a registered number of teams of 120 men’s and 92 women’s teams".

The DTTB President expects 50 to 60 thousand spectators throughout the 8 day event! The president described the atmosphere as amazing on the opening day and that there were "5500 guests were in the hall, approximately 1700 kids and youths who joined the “Free Tickets Under 18” promotion of the German Association DTTB. “If the sports results will go well, the hall might be even full on Friday, too,”.
