Tibhar Hybrid K3 FX

Was curious about these so bought a couple from TT11 which arrived next day (today). Bit unsure about opening them though as, apart from the fx sticker on the front, the rest of the packaging looks identical to the regular k3 packaging. It has the same hardness (53) as regular K3 and the K3 ratings on the back. Attached the photos and also the Tibhar site stats to show what it should be. Anyone bought any already and opened them up? Have Tibhar just put it in the old packaging or do you think this is just old k3 with an fx sticker?

no it's not, is has an pink sponge like hybrid mk fx and is way more softer then k3.
i believe fx is 48°, normal 53° and pro 55°. so maybe you can see the sponge colour from the side, as you sometimes can see with other rubbers.

if i remember well, the pro version also had the same package. maybe they save money with that, but the rubber is super expensive in germany so they should have at least lower the price like donic with bluestar did.

i would have definitly tried it for BH, but the durability sucks hard and will not change with a softer sponge, maybe will be even worse...

I have tried it and was positively surprised that tibhar managed to keep the great short game control while having a very easy to access sponge.
To me it is like a not-tacky rakza z with softer sponge. Definitely nice to play with, but unfortunately i don't have the time to spend too much to continue testing with this rubber.

I've been using it for a few weeks now. It feels tamer than regular K3 - not just from the sponge being softer imo. K3 comes across as being highly factory boosted to me and has a really powerful top-end gear, but K3-FX feels mild in comparison. I think Tibhar have gone for a softer sponge here from a different rubber class, rather then just having a softer version of the original K3 sponge.

I need more time to really evaluate it, but it's a solid, very spinny rubber without too much catapult. Quite easy to use, but effective with decent power. Just slightly tacky, same topsheet as K3, no surprises there.

Topsheet is the same, so durability is also the similar…
So I'd expect topsheet durability to be the same. Which is to say - it looks rough already (10 hours), but it's only visual and the performance is still there.

If my guess about the lower factory boosting is right (and it's just a guess, I may be wrong) then I'd expect a slower drop-off in overall performance than regular K3 but it's too early for me to say for sure.

Really tempted to buy this on the forehand, im currently using Dignics 80 and in the fast game its great, but the slower, trickier rallies, I lose the safety, I feel the Hybrid K3 FX will be more forgiving and having that extra dwell with that tacky topsheet will really benefit me, AndySmith, are you using it on forehand or backhand?

Backhand. I have tried it on FH as well for a bit, it's ok there, lacks a little power when you hit really hard but otherwise it's a nice, steady, spinny, attacking rubber. It does fit what you're looking for, but it's very different to D80. Also, I have found on the BH side that the topsheet feels hard, I find I have to be a bit more active on flicks and bananas in the touch game. Otherwise, it's a nice rubber, maybe a bit overpriced?
