Tibhar Hybrid MK alternatives

Hey guys,

I've been wondering if any of you have had any experience playing this rubber and know of its poor durability. I have played mine for approx. 2 weeks (4-5 trainings of 2h on avrg.) and the performance has gone down drastically after 2 weeks. Kind of disappointing in terms of durability... but man, this rubber plays like a dream in the first week and a half. Best rubber ever if it wasn't for its poor longevity. So this is where I need your guys' help, do any of you have experience playing the Hybrid MK and know a rubber which gets as close as possible to this rubbers characteristics but has a better life-span? I really love this rubber but simply can't be bothered to switch rubbers every 2 weeks.

Thanks in advance!

hmmm, can't help but feeling you've been a bit unlucky somehow.
I've been playing Tibhar Hybrid MK for a couple of months now, and it looks as good as new. My favourite rubber to date.
I have a blue rubber in 2.0... but I doubt the color affects durability in a negative way.. I did have the same problem with the k3 though. Although the durability issue are well-documented with that rubber. For the MK people haven't had as many complaints from what I could read online

@Lazer You know MK very well, whats your experience of the durability?
No different from other ESN rubbers. I played with it before switching to H3 and it’s still my favorite ESN. This was when only one version existed. Actually didn’t know it existed in the color blue.

I am confused by why K3's durability is either great or it sucks. I think people have different definition of "tackiness."

I am sure the sponge works just fine. I think some people like K3's surface to be tacky while others are ok with K3 being "grippy?" Maybe that is where the confusion comes from?

It’s just bad durability that’s all. Yesterday I have shown my k3 rubber to a club mate and asking him - how much do you think it is in use? He told - about six months? And it’s 10 days actually.

And I don’t mind if it shows signs of wearing but performs good - like D09c for example. The problems even not the tackiness - both D09c and K3 are very slightly tacky. K3 just significantly lose in spin and consistency super quick. D09c is good and consistent even after 5-6 months.

Someone will notice such things - other will not. K3 is a very good rubber but I will use three sheets that I have and probably won’t be using it anymore

Yeah, I am sticking with my hurricane. I have never been tempted to try hybrid rubber.....

I have played through 6 pairs of MK bh and MK pro fh. I have used maybe 50 pair of different esn rubbers and I think that durability of MK is one of the best among esn rubbers. Since MK is not heavily factory boosted the drop of performance sounds strange. Have op tried to re-glue his/her mk? If that doesn’t help then it must be just a bad luck with the bad sheet. All my MK’s have had same weight (with in 1g) and have played 5he same when new.

I did more than a month of using constantly MK on a backhand - 20 hours per week and it’s perform like new almost. So I ordered a few more since it has much of respectable durability.

And also I find blue one is slightly harder and faster than red. Black I never tried 🙂

I train around 6h/week and have league matches (second highest league in my country)/competition once a month. I play with same rubbers about 2 months= 40to50 hours. I like to play rubbers that are in good condition so perfornance wise I think my rubbers have at least 75% of their performace left when I change them.

I have MK hybrid on three different blades and I wouldn’t say it have pure durability. K3 is other way - very poor durability.
But I guess something similar to MK hybrid is Victas v20

Ah cool. Might check it out sometime. Is the Victas v20 also a hybrid? The problem usually is the poor durability for these kinds of rubbers.
Unfortunately not many people have mentioned alternatives to the MK so I might just stick to the rubber otherwise and see how they'll be like in the future.

V20 double extra is not really a hybrid (regardless of victas' marketing language) because it does not have the very good short game you would find on the Rakza Z or similar. Additionally it is not tacky at all. If we are simply on the hunt for controllable Tensors, then the Victas v20 extra would come to mind. That one is pretty controlled and spinny with a medium throw angle.

No, V20 it’s not like a classic hybrid (sticky top sheet/esn sponge) it does not have tackiness so actually it’s not a hybrid - more like a japan esn rubbers that are having linear behaviour in comparison with T05 kinda rubbers. But MK does not have sticky top sheet too and closer to Japan made esn. V20 is also similar in hardness with MK but maybe a notch faster

Can anyone else chime in on MK's durability? Seems like a lot of conflicting info. I think it sounds like a good bh rubber, but not if it doesn't last at least 3-4 months.
got mine since july, train 8 10hours a week + club match, will be time to change them soon but i play a lot so 4 month is ok if you play less they can probably hold you 2 more month, i take ofc well care with protection and cleaning after every session, the rubber still play very well but pipe are beggining to appaer on forehand (mk pro), on the BH (mk normal) i got the blue version and it seems still brand new but i think its just the color who hide it better than the blackone cause i put them both at the same time, the tt shop seller say i need to change it when i show him my blade but if they didnt say that to me i would probably didnt notice i had too cause they still play well, maybe ill see the difference when i put a new pair, will keep you update if i dont change for k3 im still hesitating but i really love the mk they feel amazing lot of control lot of speed lot of spin only minus, they arent sticky and i wanted a sticky rubber
