Traditional Penhold [Jpen] Community-RPB or TPB.

Hello, I am a new member here and am looking for a penhold, [specifically Jpen] community. It isn't easy to find people who still play this style, let alone in the semi pro to pro range. In addition in the already small penhold community there really is not much traditional penholders with no RPB. Any tips of technique to preserve this increasingly rare style of playing is much appreciated. Please share your inputs of you have any. 😊

Here we have s collection of all styles, pretty much the same as in the real world. Statistically there should be a few Jpen players. I play shakehand myself and don’t know much about the difference between jpen and cpen except equipment wise.

I think someone will chime in eventually. Be patient.

Cheers

i think the only way to preserve it, is to make sure those old players live longer

Well let's hope so. It certainly is a playstyle not seen often and it will be a breath of fresh air to see more variation like Felix Lebraun with penhold now.

😆 yeah

I'm currently 13 and safe to say practically no one my age uses penhold especially jpen anymore except for one of my friends, a year older than me who is a leftie Cpen, we nicknamed Xu Xin(g) due to obvious quirks 😄 and the fact his strong forehands deep into the table would almost always automatically force the opponent to play mostly defensive. But safe to say, not often to encounter penhold youngsters anymore.

Most of the penholders I play with are above 50.
