I would like to train in a training camp/ training center for about 3 - 4 weeks over the summer break 2025. I would also like to use this time as a vacation.
I wouldn't need any special personal training, but it's much more important to me to have a training group at my level or, if possible, even at a higher level to play with.
It is also very important for me to meet new international people and to have a nice vacation where I can get to know a new culture.
My first thought was of course China, because where else is table tennis as big as there, but I've read in a few threads that it's not so good there.

My level:
German TTR 1720
Can you give me any recommendations?

I don't have a direct country in mind, although outside of Europe would of course be cool, you can also tell me if you know of any good camps in Germany or somewhere else. Then I would train there and go on vacation somewhere else. :)

that isn't a high level, so it does make it very complicated.

In Asian training facility, U11~U13 will be in that level
and i'm sure you won't want to train with kids.
then more closer age groups, then your level won't be enough.

so, do we then find you b grade or c grade to match level? that also won't work, as those places won't be training much at all.

level matching has been one of my more challenging tasks since getting more involved with pairing of training facilities.

China was the only place where it can take in all levels (including beginners). But other than that, there is no other advantage.

at 2000 or even 2200, you would need coaching guidance. group training won't have that.
else you are just making your bad habits set deeper and deeper.

There are some camps in Europe, very expensive, during holiday times, that would have both group training and coaching.

I know of a camp in Germany, but seems like reputation past few years have dropped.
Including players going there (not cheap) and then, the hall is used by some other sports... so, no TT on that day.

in Taiwan. I can place you in 1 on 1 or 1 on "small group" training. Training with be with coach though. Seems like the focus and growth there is the fastest.
Taiwan is a great tourist location and lots of places to "play tt" at low cost, if you want to put in more tt hours, other than those coaching hours.
But for group training, it will be tough if you are not in that level and also not used to training 35+ hours a week.

This year, I have helped with Singapore national junior, Indian national junior, Australia para national senior. Assisted with the setup but didn't go through due to scheduling conflict - Thai national junior.

Thank you for your response. Very helpful!
And by the way for your info I'm 19 years old :)
It sounds like Taiwan is the best option for me. Above all, I find the country itself very interesting and would like to travel there.

It sounds like you know what you're talking about... so can I ask you what would be the next steps I would need to take to actually make it happen?
I know it's still a long way off, but I'd rather plan it too early than too late haha

And what is the name of the training camp in Germany, because I might want to visit it this year if that's possible

Edit:
I have just read a very interesting thread where 1750 TTR is equated with 2150 -2200 USATT. And the 1750 level should be achievable for me very quickly.
For example 2 player which do a lot of games in Germany and USA:
Thorsten Esch 1700 TTR 2140 USATT
Markus Kirsten 1650 TTR 2100 USATT
Just in case that makes a big difference.

How about you visit Dan and his Staff at their Ping Pod Facility? :)https://pingpod.com/locations/
Would be amazing but I don't think you can just go there and train with them.

I think the way it works is that you always have to reserve a table and bring your training partner with you and not have a training group or partner on site

Not sure if you still on the forum (last seen 20 nov).
but only saw your edit update now.

I think if you can train at 2200 level, then maybe I can arrange a high school team (16~18 year olds) for you to train at. They train 6 days a week, so we talking around the 30 hours a week mark if not more. During summer vacation in Taiwan, they train closer towards 40 hours.
and this is in Taiwan, in Taipei City and that is near to a big MRT/High speed train/train station.

I also have accommodation places I work with over the years and they give me good rates.
meals in Taiwan is pretty cheap, and from what others told me, Taiwan's trip works out to be about half or just higher than half cost, of that of China, so it is huge value for money.

And most importantly, you are in Urban Taipei City, and you can use the MRT for quick and convenient access to many day trip tourist attractions.
private message me if you still interested for the Summer 2025

This may be an option depending on your level and the level of the players attending. That's always the tricky bit.

Otherwise a busman's holiday to various clubs and facilities might work as well as a bit of sightseeing.

Then I would train there and go on vacation somewhere else. :) Before heading out on a road trip or purchasing a used car, it’s important to take a few key precautions to ensure a smooth and safe journey. Checking your vehicle’s brakes, tires, and fluid levels is a must, but one often-overlooked step is verifying its accident history. A car may look fine on the outside, but hidden damage from a previous accident can cause serious safety issues down the road. That’s why running a VIN check is a smart move—it reveals any past accidents and gives you peace of mind before making a purchase. You can quickly check a vehicle’s history at https://www.faxvin.com/vin-check/accident to avoid potential risks. Once your car is cleared, ensure your license plate is properly registered, plan your route, and check for any toll roads or parking restrictions. Whether you’re heading on a cross-country adventure or just a weekend getaway, a little preparation can make all the difference. Safe travels!
Some clubs and universities in Japan offer training for foreign players, and you’ll get a mix of high-level competition and an amazing cultural experience.
