Since I started playing table tennis, I have been learning the technique with normal rubbers. However, I have decided to try the Speedy Soft XD short pimples rubber (2.0 sponge thickness) on the backhand, because I am a player who always looks for his forehand and I intend to use it more on the backhand.
The thing is that I find it difficult to understand how to push the ball and I need some tips to change the technique from a normal rubber to a short pimples one.
Thanks.

It's all about a short ball contact with the blade. You mainly hit the ball by a short and quick punch. Start with that video below, I believe that's the most crucial point for your transition. Because of that some stiffer blade is advised for SP as well.
Spinfire and 802-40 are closest to a normal rubber, transition is really intuitive and easy here, but I didn't play that Tibhar one, so you would need to find out how to cut and push the ball using it on your own (blade angle adjustment etc.).

I decided on the Tibhar rubber because I've heard it's recommended for the change to short pimples. Thank you very much, I'll watch the video and see if I can get some ideas.
