Upgrading Xiom vega Europe DF

I’ve been using the Europe DF for 3-4 months now. However I want something with more spin and speed however not crazy like Dignics 09C or T05. I want something that I can develop with but still want to have better spin and speed to ‘work with’.

I just can’t choose from rubbers like the glayser, glasyer 09C, rakza 7, tenergy 19, Tibhar mk, k3

I like short to medium rallies, for my fh I want to attack their backspin, counterlooping. I want to be consistent and don’t want a rubber too good for me
For my bh i want something fast that can play further away from the table. Not too spin sensitive.

My blade is 3+2 inner carbon hinoki. Which is kinda fast.

Any recommendations on what rubber I should get would be greatly appreciated. Or even a new blad.

DF is too soft and mushy. Good for control but nothing much.

BH further away from table but not too spin sensitive:
1) Donic Bluefire M2
2) Rakza 7
3) Rozena
the similarity here are these recommendations are all 45 degree ESN hardness scale with tensor technology.

If you're ok with increasing the hardness of the sponge, look into the Omega V rubbers. Omega V Europe, Tour, or Asia. NEVER get V Pro because that was made for the old ball. V Tour has the same sponge hardness as V Pro but the Tour was made for the new ball.

If you want something fast for your backhand, maybe Omega VII Europe. V Europe is a little harder and slower than VII Europe but is something to consider if you think that VII Europe might be too sensitive.

The rubbers you mentioned are much harder than your Europe DF. The softest one of them is Rakza 7. It’s a great “do everything good” rubber….

I would prefer something more harder then the Europe DF on my backhand. But something softer for forehand. So maybe a fastarc C-1?

The rakza 7 is a good option but what would be the spin and speed difference between the rakza 7 and the Europe DF?

Dignics 09c is not fast. Before that, I played with the Donic Bluestorm PRO AM, - it was fast. Dignic's 09c sponge is quite hard and the surface is a bit sticky, so the speed depends only on how much force you put into the stroke. For me, to this day, this is the most fun rubber I've ever tried. I've been playing with it for 6 months.
I also tried Glayzer 09c..total disappointment. Too little speed, no stickiness at all.
I think when choosing a table tennis rubber, you have to answer the question of what your playing style is: European rubbers have a greater catapult effect, you don't have to "work" with them like dignic's, FR Battle or DHS H3, which require you to always approach the ball and work actively (it's not enough to "reach out if you can't make it"). The second option is closer to me, although my other colleagues prefer European rubbers and don't understand how I can play, for example, with FR Battle III.

Yes my control with pushes and service returns are amazing but as soon as you get a bit away from the table the control isn’t that good. Looked into the Donic Bluefire M2 and reviews are good. However I am concerned whether or not it would be too fast.

I am a low intermediate player so do you think I can still play my bh with this rubber. What would you compare this rubber to in terms of speed

I heard that the Dignics 09C was a fast rubber. Maybe your more skilled and developed than me

I also heard the same thing, which is why it lay in my drawer for a long time, not daring to try it :) The reality turned out to be completely different, even though I'm only an average player.

Faster with more spin but it’s harder so a little less accessibility…

should I get a hurricane rubber? Today I did try a hurricane 3 (orange sponge) and I did like the spin the blade on that bag was a heavy 5+2 inner carbon. I was hitting a lot of my shots onto the table with very nice spin. But the speed was lacking.

So if I were to transfer a Hurricane 3 National (blue sponge) onto my hinoki 3+2 blade could I still get a level of control. Would the Hurricane 3 National (blue sponge) be to high of a level for a lower intermediate player?

To get good speed with hurricane you have to hit really really hard. The blue sponge has a higher ceiling, but you have to hit so hard to reach there I am not sure it’s with it since the orange sponge is nicer on softer shots. If you are used to Vega Europe DF it’s going to be a massive difference. May be better to make an intermediate stop at Rakza 7…

How would you say the grip is on the rakza 7. Does it have a shorter arc than the Europe DF. Is it forgiving when I hit hard? Also is the top shet hard or soft.

Sorry for the amount of questions, thank you for your help

D09C is "fast" compared to hard and sticky Chinese style rubber like Hurricane. In terms of Japanese/European style rubbers it is not really all that fast. The good part about D09C is that it strikes a really good balance between the lively/bouncy behavior of Euro/Jp rubbers and tacky/dead behavior of Chinese style rubbers.

Longer arc, A faster rubber generally has a longer arc. It depends on what your hard is. Vega Euro DF is more forgiving until it bottoms out then it’s not forgiving at all. Rakza 7’s top sheet is harder than Vega Euro DF’s.
The hardness will be a little awkward in the beginning but after 3 - 4 sessions it becomes natural. Go for it and plan for something like H3 for next change.

For FH consider Tibhar Hybrid MK of you want something a faster but not too catapulty. It’s real spinny, not super forgiving but my favorite ESN.

I was looking at this rubber but I don’t think I like it very much. Was looking into the nittaku fastarc g-1. How would this compare to the hurricane 3 orange sponge in terms of spin and speed. Another other slower alternatives to the G-1?

Will be getting the rakza 7

Never played with G1 really, Only on friends racket. I wasn’t too impressed , but I don’t remember it to be bad. I now definitely prefer Hybrid MK…
