Hi all, I am Tony Ma the creator of the USATT rating calculator Android/iOS app and website.

Recently my Android developer account was terminated for not verifying an email within the time frame and as a result the app was removed from the Google Play Store as well. So I had to create a new Android developer account but rceently Google added a new policy that requires new developer accounts to have 20 internal testers test the app before it can be publicly published.

So I am calling out to the community here to see if anyone is kind enough to help be a tester of the Android app (requires an Android device). All you need to do is join this google group and there are instructions on how to downloaded the beta version of the app. Really appreciate your time thank you so much!

Tony

Is this calculator for USATT leagues or USATT tournaments ?
You are aware of the fact that the USATT tournament calculations go thru a 4 pass algorithm right ?
It is not the same as USATT league simpler 1 pass algorithm

If yes, I am really curious as to how you do it for tournaments
Yes it's for both USATT leagues and tournies, the algorithm is the same for both types. Yes I can guarantee 99% accuracy of your new rating if you did not play anyone that got re-rated. If your opponent gets re-rated you would need to enter all the matches of your opponent and so on and so forth.

Can you link me where on USATT's site it says that the league and tourney algos are different? I'm not aware of this.

And fair enough, I see what you mean. Yes I do a single pass according to this site (https://www.usatt.org/events-and-results/rating-systems-explained). For an app to work with passes 2/3/4, you'd have to enter in all the other matches played at the tourney so it would become impractical to use as a tool. That's why I only support 1 pass.

But this still means that you can enter in your matches and see your new rating (even if you get tier1/2 readjusted it will be accurate). Also if you are an unrated player and want to calculate your new rating it would also work.

But don't expect to have your end rating be 100% accurate if you played an opponent who was unrated or got re-adjusted. Obviously for those cases you'd have to enter in all the other matches played by your opponents.
