I have a hard rubber on forehand and soft rubber on backhand. The different between the 2 rubber is 4-6 grams. However the backhand feels MUCH lighter. Could that 4-6 grams be that much of a difference or is it the hardness of each rubber. One is super soft and the other is hard
Depends. If the softness of the bh rubber is achieved by a soft sponge then there is of course a chance that much more air is contained in the sponge and air of course is less heavy than rubber.

This is normal. A hard rubber is usually more compact like Lodro stated. I don't find this difference very excessive. You should try Nittaku H3 Blue sponge.... There You can talk about heavy...
