What are your favourite hybrid rubbers?

Today I played with a friend's Donic C2 and also Tibhar K3.

C2 felt similar to other 55d hybrids like Dragon Grip or Omega China. But if anything, I felt C2 was slightly slower and more Chinese in feeling. I don't know if other people had the same conclusion.

The K3 I tried felt slower than Dragon Grip but faster than C2. But it was on a fast ZJK SZLC blade...so I think the blade was also influencing the speed a lot.

Regardless, I guess all these rubbers are actually really close to each other in the end.

Ok, good to know. I can get the c2 for about 35~38 euros from a guy I know. Maybe I'll give it a try and see if these hybrids fit me.

Gan just posted a review of the Codexx SuperSelect 53 and 55. I just bought a new sheet of 53, but after he said 55 was like a combination of Hybrid K3 and Dynaryz I might have to buy a sheet soon.

In what way is it a combination?

Which means it is boosted and will lose its main playable features after 2 months.

He said the Gewo is more solid and less powerful than the Dynaryz.

I quite enjoy the power of Dynaryz ZGR...

I didn't feel like it was Chinese at all, especially 5-6 hours into it. its hard but the top sheet if very soft, its very bouncy considering its a hybrid and it more grippy than tacky. after 5 hours there are noticeable marks on the rubber and it completely lost its tack, however it remained very grippy. the new bluestar series is a huge upgrade

Did you compare the C2 with other 55d hybrids?

In what way is the Bluestar an upgrade over C2? Dan just released a review, but his comment was that it was somewhat slow

Gewo Codexx is also really amazing and I continue to suggest people try as it's also much cheaper usually than other hybrids. There is also the added bonus, like Stiga, that you can choose a range of hardness from 52-55. I'd note:

Codexx EL Pro 52/EF Pro 54 are the old style hybrid. I'm using EF Pro 54 right now and it was incredible tacky out of the package. It took a very long time for some of that tack to come off and the sponge to open up to make it more usable. The throw angle is also extremely low as well which is part of the reason im going back to the 53 Super Select.

Codexx Pro SuperSelect 53/55 are new style hybrid. Tacky enough to hold onto a cover sheet, but not tacky enough to pick up a ball. They're much easier to use because of this without losing that much potential.

I've never had people tell me before how spinny my loops are before I used these. The price is also unbeatable (you can get the EL/EF Pro for $38 on ebay) and the SuperSelect are always on sale at Megaspin for ~$45.

I really love the codexx rubbers, I have so much control and I can pick up the ball off backspin very easy without too much effort, just using my wrist. The ball has a great arc which I like, but I feel like it is missing power. I used to play with rasanter 47 on bh and 50 on FH and there are players I can't beat now that I have the slower gewo rubber. However, there are many other players that I am beating with my more varied game with these hard rubbers. Really struggling to find a middle ground. I wish there was a rubber like gewo with more power - any ideas @Peter93 ?

Which of the Codexx rubbers are you using? I've only used the 53 and 53 hardness versions, and they're very different from each other. But my advice is still going to be the same for the most part. You can either

1) Change blades: I'd advise against this because it's costly and with an inner-carbon blade you shouldn't have trouble generating power.

2) Change rubber: Again without knowing which Codexx you're using, I can't give much advice here. If you're using the 54 or 55, then I'd try the 53. You could also consider boosting although I don't think that's necessary.

3) Change technique: Harder rubbers require better technique to use them to their maximum potential. An innerforce blade should be providing you with enough power. Are you using your legs, hitting though the ball, snapping the elbow, etc.
