I don't have a problem with the cutting, just need to make sure to use a nice sharp blade.

My biggest problem is getting the rubber to fully stick to the blade. It always seems to come up at the edges for me. Perhaps I'm not using a strong enough glue or putting on enough layers.

I used to have that issue in my early days - part of the things I did to solve it include:
- Pressing down for a while (maybe a minute or two) after gluing
- Not cutting the rubber right away and also being careful to have the blade slide through the rubber instead of being dry and pulling at it (which can lead to edges lifting up)
- Paying closer attention to the edges when gluing, ensuring there are no dry spots (use a light source to shine on the blade - any part that's dull instead of shiny carries a risk of the glue not gluing properly)
- using my fingernail to test the edges after cutting - any part that lifts up I add some glue there and press lightly to finish the job off

Blade splintering when removing rubber, removing glue that isn't thick enough to allow proper peeling, misaligning a rubber that has already been cut so that it's not centered
I also hate it when I misalign a rubber when regluing, which tends to happen every time 😅
