Where is the correct place to put your left hand when your do a BH loop. My natural tendency is to put my left hand horizontal between my stomach and my paddle. It feels like I am getting balance when I do this.

But sometimes my paddle hits my handle and messes up my stroke. So I don't know if that is actually the right place to put it.

There's no correct place, but there are incorrect places. If you're hitting your off hand with your paddle, then that would be an incorrect place. Ultimately you'll have to figure out what works for you, but if you want a pro model I'd recommend FZD.

Professional players hold their left hand high in front of them, symmetrically to the playing hand. I do it, and it helps in positioning the ball, and making more explosive shot. Look at Calderano, Fransiska, and others with great backhand.
I tried to do this, but obviously on my first time it didn't feel right to me.
I don't know if it's worth the effort to change my method and feel weird for 3 weeks as I transition.

I would say in 10 matches, maybe I hit my left hand once or twice? So its not a terrible problem at the moment, but I just wonder if I'm doing it wrong.

I think you're supposed to just use your off hand to balance. Like when you're stepping forward to reach for a short ball you have your off hand behind, if you're doing a "tear" stroke BH topspin your off hand "tear" to the left to counterbalance. I haven't really found it super necessary though.

This is good to consider.

Different coaches have different opinions on this. (use of the off hand on the BH stroke)

Some say to use for balance and recovery. Some say to project off hand outward with stroke to provide extra leverage and force delivery.

Personally, I am more on the use for balance side, (like you) but it isn't an absolute.

I bet most people don't even know what they do with their other hand, at least not until they get back onto a table and check. I am one of those!:ROFLMAO:
I was going to tell OP to but his left hand on his head :p

but year, its like boxing, your other hand is to give your playing hand balance.
and it needs to up and not in front of the tummy
