I am a beginner with a basic understanding of the game. So far I have consumed a lot of table tennis content on Youtube, but sometimes get conflicting advice. If I were to choose only one and focus on training the style they teach, which one would you suggest that I follow? There are many, here are some examples:

PingSkills
Tom Lodziak
Ti long club
Dublin Table Tennis Club
Table Tennis Teaching Channel
Greg Letts
Table Tennis 4 fun
Olav Kosolosky
PechPong TT
MLFM Table Tennis
or one of many more

Lol. As a beginner, you should get coaching in person. But maybe thr first two. They are fairly clear on what they are trying to do. Some of the others are either advanced or sometimes even wrong. But usually in table tennis, when you see an idea, try it and if it works for you, great, if not, the game is so complicated there is rarely a single best answer to any problem below the professional level.

As a beginner Tom Lodziak is all you need to have good explanation with good demonstration for beginner through to intermediate.
I'm not saying you should not watch other channels also but, to keep it simple, sometimes one input can be enough!

They are all useful. I would choose PechPong and Olav Kosolosky if I had to pick just two.

I would place Pech first for a beginner because he has very in-depth videos of fundamentals for each shot with lots of repetition and explanation... and also match commentary with good insights.

Olav has a very technical approach and goes into important stuff in my opinion to move game further along. Similarly, the table tennis teaching channel is going into great detail for certain aspects of the game and I am enjoying their content a lot.

Not on the list but i think the TableTennisDaily videos about 5 things beginners should focus on and other videos like that, along with watching how Tom and Dan play in their equipment videos, go a long way too.

You would also do well to read NextLevel's posts here, wonderful insights. I appreciate them a lot and learn from them, along with many other contributors here. : )

Without coaching probably any of these channels do as much harm as good. If you are determined to use YT coaching, the key will be to video yourself playing and/or training, and compare what you actually do to the examples. The more frequently and closer to real-time you see yourself, the better your training will be.

As far as channels, I think the two Korean girls have the most usable content for beginners. I can't find their channel now. Could somebody who knows the two I mean please post a link?

It's interesting that lots of not so advanced amateurs can get value from watching players that I think are definitely advanced. I can't easily implement half the stuff I learn from those youtubers.

I agree with you.

I don't think beginners really should watch any YouTube videos. Just get a coach.

Too many YouTube channels teach how the "perfect" strokes look like. That is not helpful for the beginner.

Too many videos talk about moving your wrist, which to me is the worst thing you can do as a beginner. From beginner to intermediate, I feel that elbow (forearm), waist and hip are the three major areas to focus on. And you need to focus on those areas one by one, either elbow then waist. Or elbow then hip.

Wrist should be added last.

By the way, one of my club mate, about USATT 1600 level player, did not gain 300 points after getting Golden Viscaria. He admits that he is still playing the same....
