Not sure why Harimoto’s coach used that timeout when He was up 8-6 in the 4th. He could’ve used it elsewhere or even now in the deciding game
Tasei: Ahem, I called it for Aruna...

Harimoto is aware of his issue in closing out matches during the Paris 2024 cycle. Tasei could've called it before Harimoto blew his 5:1 lead in G4, but he had to call it when Harimoto found his way back in.

I don’t think anyone would question why he didn’t take a timeout after winning 2 points being up 8-6 in the 4th had he not taken it.
Now I see why there are so many complaints about this coach
well

He was 5-1 up at one stage
then 5-5
time out at 8-6 was possibly to calm him down and to close it
next point won, so 9-6 (at this stage, the timeout still worked)
then 9-9

9-6 he apologies and next 2 points was too soft.
do you call time out at 9-7?

if next point was 8-7 or 8-8, then people may ask, why don't the coach call time out earlier.
in fact, i felt 5-3 a time out should of been called

if he won game 4, people will say, good time out call no matter when it was called
so, as I say, its life.

Nah, really, I warned everyone in there: keep ya money in ya wallet when it's time to bet on Tomo. OTOH, Aruna recently killed Felix in Pro A, right before the ETTU Championships. The Pro A is a bit more flexible than the TTBL 1 when it comes to adapt to WTT calendar, that's why Aruna probably choose to move from Germany for France ? don't really know though.

Germany limits you to playing in one league. Aruna has a lot of league contracts now.

There seem to be only three certainties in life. Death, taxes, and Harimoto choking.
Quadri played a fantastic match, Harimoto didn't choke, he just needs to continue to take more risks with his style and stop trusting his defensive skills so much. In table tennis, the best defense is hood offense.

yep

that is just life

you take the time out and it didn't work - problem A
you don't take it and people ask, why didn't take it - problem B
I think he had questions on the timing given that it came when Harimoto wad broadly on the positive. That said, Harimoto can't be entirely blamed for Quadri playing extremely well, that is the best i have seen Quadri play on tour. And I watch him a lot. It was reminiscent of the form he displayed against Felix in Pro A, though he had the crazy mission of trying to beat both Lebruns on the same day and that was not going to happen.

Also, but the TTBL 1 calendar is steady, no delayed matches, or a very few. If you look at the PRO A calendar, it's a total mess really.

J1 and J2 are not completed, but the J3 already is

To summarize, in France club presidents call themselves and make their own calendar according to their international roster.

yep

time out at 8-6 maybe to not allow another 8-8,
since it was 5-5, 6-6, so at 8-6, it is in essence 3 points to Harimoto and 7 points to Aruna

after time out, Harimoto was offensive and won, so 9-6
then he apologies for something and then went soft.
he still had 2 match points...
so it was not finishing off and Aruna is on very good form indeed.

It's been the FOREVER CONVERSATION in rugby: clubs complaining their internationals had to play 6 Nations, Summer and Autumn test matches. Because the french rugby league Top 14 is like the TTBL 1: no delay. That's why there are many matches in Top 14 with no Dupont, no Ntamack, no Ramos, no Damian Penaud, no Cheslin Kolbe on the same day. If the FFTT grows too much, the Cholet incident last tuesday might make a big fuss in the future.

but think about it

your club/team does well, and your star players get called to national duty
and you loose, because your team does well...

Exactly: the best french rugby clubs like Stade Toulousain, Bordeaux-Bègles, La Rochelle have asked for financial compensations to the Top14 league for those kind of matches for SOOOO LOOONG now. different story though for the Stade Toulousain, it's the Real Madrid of rugby, so they've been buying countless of international players, specially the UK ones, why ? because it's mandatory for england to name english rugbymen playing in their local league, the Premiership, same for Scotland, so when Toulouse buys UK players with big cash, they cut them from playing for their international squad. They've bought a fullback to replace Ramos, Kinghorn (SCO), and Jack Willis (ENG) to replace Jelonch.

Not so much UK players for Stade, way more south hemisphere players.

Harimoto played well but Aruna just upped his game several levels towards the end. Thoroughly entertaining match. Never seen Aruna play like that. When he's hitting his shots, it's incredible to watch. Not only was it impossible to get anything by him, he was sending everything back with full power!
