There are a lot of Miu Hirano style players who focus on speed and power in the upcoming Japanese juniors (Odo, Yokoi). But I still think Miwa has the highest potential because her spin generation ability is a few levels above these junior players, while still having excellent table coverage.

Xu Yingbin, Yuan Licen and Xue Fei just completed the WTT Muscat. Xue Fei took the MS title.

Xu Yingbin and Yuan Licen are allowed to take on another WTT event but Xue Fei is out? They should give Xue Fei another chance
It would be seriously very entertaining to see Xue Fei take on Felix Lebrun. I hope we would get to see that, imo that would have so many good rallies.

Isn't there a cap on how many players from a country can participate?

There is a cap. However, there is an exception in the WTT Series handbook that allows for additional players:

"Where a Main Draw or a Qualifying is undersubscribed additional players or pairs in any pair combination can be accepted according to the ITTF TTWR or the Combined Pair Rank at the respective entry deadline to fill the available spots."

Vietnamese player, Nguyen Anh Tu, just got robbed. He was up 1-0, serving at 4-4. Then wins the next 2 points so Polish player Maciej Kolodziejczyk calls timeout. So it should be 6-4, but umpire incorrectly calls it 5-5. After timeout, players return with Nguyen protesting it should be Maciej serving at 4-6. But umpire refuses to listen and Polish player acts dumb. Umpire needs to think ... you don't call timeout at 5-5... it's 4-6. Everyone in the livestream chat including myself points this out. I rewound to the beginning of the game to make sure. You can even hear the umpire say 5-4 before Nguyen's next serve which Maciej dumps into the net. Bad umpiring and no sportsmanship from Maciej. Nguyen ends up losing the match 3-1.

So angry for Anh Tu. He’s already 31 and this is the first time he has the chance to play a WTT (or ITTF) pro tour. What a heartbreaking result for him.

I'm gonna repeat myself, but there need to be performance reviews when umpires make questionable decisions.

Woah is this the first time Vietnam has sent a player to a WTT (not ITTF) event?

And then the first match played by that Viet player he is screwed over by an incompetent judge?

No wonder they don't want to spend all that money in order to participate.
Yes, the first time Vietnam sends a male player to a WTT event. (We already sent a female player to a WTT event.) So bad the first time ends like this. I’m not sure Anh Tu will ever have another chance and when, because we don’t have much money for table tennis.

these things happen and public apology from WTT match referee is required for the sake of fair play.
they always demand things from players, but I think when officials are in the wrong, apologies are required with the press.

these bad umpires are like untouchable and invisible and unchangeable, and don't nee to apologies to the press after the match.... that is wrong

yep, and it seems like only a couple of countries benefit (whom is not the hosting nation).
some said TTWR, but many of those that do end up as undersubscribed additional players doesn't not have TTWR to talk about....
