I'm there on Sunday for the finals.

Poor line-up compared to last year.
last year, no WR restrictions, this year clash with Tunis

a pity Taiwan has national university games these few days, else, our young national players would have loved to take part

Yeah the absence of world ranking restrictions with the lead up to the Olympics was the biggest thing.

This seems to be working out quite well this year. We have a number of uk players in round of 16 or better so far, hopefully this is enough to lift their rankings enough to gain direct entry to the main draw at other feeders🫰

but other than that... do you think scheduling this feeder some other time would be better?
The non-European international turn out was pretty bad, due to 1 event only (no back to back options)
But of course, if you have less stronger opponent, it creates opportunity to gain some points.

R16 = 15 points. won't do too much

PS. did you know USA will host 8 youth contender this year. I'm eager to see how many USA juniors grow in world ranking between Dec 2024 and 2025

I think if you are ranked about 300 ish then 15 points is quite a lot, you might gain 40 or 50 places?
Can sort of see your point around timing, I think there were quite a lot of Spanish French and Polish players, and not many Asian or American players, who maybe won’t travel so far for a single event. (Timing was terrible for me personally as I would have liked to attend but such is life)
Ultimately it’s only a Feeder, it’s in Europe, so it seems sensible that the entry list is largely Europeans.

October!! Is this one of the biggest event in the UK in the recent years?
October star contender date does clash with Korean tournament.
and very near to Taiwanese tournament.
Japan would also have an University tournament in October, but date not confirmed if I'm correct
