Given Winter's current ranking points, we probably won't see her play FEE anytime soon. Beside the top 50 PDR (6 from WR31-50 unless from host), she will need to reach the SF to gain measly points (the whole point of the tier system). Way more economical to play in CT and SCT selectively.

Likely spending the next 2 weeks prepping for World Cup, then WTT CT Tunis, and presumably WTTC. As long as 1 of those 3 goes well, she will have a much easier time in the second half of the year.

Annett Kaufmann is entered in this tournament. Amazingly, she's ranked only WR#145. When at her best, she is Germany's best player. Let's see how far she can get. She should at least be able to get to the QF where she would probably meet Sakura Yokoi.
Wow, I wouldn't have believed that, #145!
I guess her success at the Olympics was her peak in the last year and she has been patchy since then. Will definitely be watching tho, she is an exciting young player

I would’t call that her peak. She won the U19 world champs since

True that, and first European to do sonata U19 so credit where it's due.
I think her Olympics performances when beating Zhang, Batra, Akula, Harimoto, gave the impression that she was already on level to compete in the top 50 (to me anyway but that was a premature evaluation).
Anyway, rank 145 surprised me, I would have sworn she'd be higher 🤷‍♂️

MAS MS made into the main draw after defeating three opponents in the QLY draw. Like wise, the WS also made it to the main draw after taking down three opponents in the QLY round.

MS Equipment: Donic Crest Off ( 7 ply all wood ) + Bluegrip C2 on FH + Bluefire M1 on BH. My National team is Donic sponsored.

Yokoi is out. Upsetted 3-2 by Kaho Akae who I have personally never heard of.
Kaho Akae is well known in Japan TT. She is a T-League teammate of Hina Hayata. Still relatively young with solid all around skills but needs to develop confidence and experience.

Like most of these relatively young, low-ranked stars. Once they have confidence, they can be unstoppable (XP my favourite example)

her success in teams event does not help her much on singles world ranking
