Star Contender Ljubljana kicks off this Tuesday with 2 days of qualification. Top seeds are Hugo Calderano in MS and Miwa Harimoto in WS. Also, this tournament will showcase the first WD pair of Miwa Harimoto and Satsuki Odo. We will also see the XD pairing of the Harimoto siblings, Tomokazu and Miwa.

Still, no Honoka But I spotted her in the BurgerSmash lineup and I'm all hyped! Wonder how much of a stir she will cause this time

Hashimoto has 440 points expiring during the upcoming US Smash which will bring her ranking down to around the early 20s. Even a quarterfinal finish (350) won't be enough to make up for the points loss. She will need to miraculously finish in the top 4 (700) and above to get a rankings boost. Crazy to think that she's ranked 13 with only six events, none of which are majors/continental boosts. Hashimoto has reached the final in every single tournament that counts towards her current ranking except for one Feeder. Japan is insane if they don't give her more chances moving forward.

Beside losing to Odo at the selection trial for ATTC 2024 (and with that WTTC 2025), Hashimoto has Miki House to blame for turning JTTA into a lame duck. What goes around comes around.

Only caught the last game, but Annett lost in the decider against Fan Shuhan. She tried to play a very difficult backhand when she had match points and missed an easy smash in deuce that will haunt her for a week. She smacked her blade against the floor and teared up.

Yep - she fell apart for no really good reason trying to do more than she had to to win points. To be fair, Fan went to an "extend the points at all costs" mode and it probably got to Annett.

I am learning! Levenko’s words after the match when he slapped Pistej hand hard, ”the way you speak to me during the game do you think its fairplay”. I wonder if ever I will witness a real fight some day.
