I recently bought Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive flared (FL) grip.
This was after reading all the positive comments about how good of a 5-ply all-wood blade it is and similar recommendations !

BUT, after I bought it and continued my research, I got the feeling that all those good comments I read about it, probably came from penholders.
And I play shakehand only.
I am looking to improve my forehand topspins/loops, technique, and consistency wise.

Now the question -
  • Have I made a mistake? Is the YEO not a good shakehand blade? Is the difference truly that much that I shouldn't hope to improve with this setup.
Rubbers for context -
FH - H3 Neo Commercial
BH - Rakza 7

As Brozi said, it's a very good blade. I personally found it to be relatively fast and slightly lacking in feedback but everyone different and has different requirements.
Trust your decision and give it a chance, as you probably read in reviews there are loads of people who absolutely love it!
