FZD's game has really unravelled this past year, players come into matchups with clear tactics looking for blood. His short game malaise and awkward defense looking really vulnerable as the days go by, WCQ too is not that experienced on the big stage, and has his issues and controversies.

China has never looked this weak in Men Singles in recent years, I smell big trouble brooding. Trouble that may be the start of something new. Maybe Chinese's methods have finally exhausted their value after all the praise it got in the last 20-30 years. We'll see.

Sun Yingsha is having the LSW syndrome in many of the Shatou XD matches nowadays, she suddenly doesn't know how to play incisive attacking TT. They've had a lot of losses recently. Maybe Hayata/Harimoto will figure out something at Paris.

Again it's telling that instead of challenging Shasha to step up, the onus is on WCQ to take on more responsibilities. Maybe they've forgotten that it's a doubles match. If both male players perform decently, the team with the better female player wins. We know Hayata has always played well in doubles. All these years that TH has played like a springless chicken in the finals, What happens when he keeps his his side of the deal at Paris?, All of this more on Paris TV.

From ITTF Ranking page.

Here is a double check and you are right. someone is stealing points from the players lol

FZD 14% / 139 points
WCQ 3% / 28 points
ML 13% / 125 points
LGY 0% / 0 points
SYS 4% / 42 points
WMY 22% / 222points
CM 8% / 83 points
WYD 0% / 0 points

Total 64% / 639

Guess what, the above is individual (singles) only

so, other points are as follows:

XD:
WCQ/SYS 24% / 236 points
LGY/WMY 4% / 40 points

WD:
CM/WMY 3% / 28
WYD/SYS 1% / 14 (how 1% is 14 points? I don't know)

MD:
ML/WCQ 1% / 14

so the above 5 is 33% / 332, so making a total of 97% and 971 points
Not quite sure where the missing 3% or 29 points went.

So it is clear - if you have some "non-normal" pairing, then the paring + wr points is pretty much close to useless.
The remaining 3% is probably in rounding errors. For example the ML/WCQ and WYD/SYS pairs are probably 1.4% each, worth 14 points, but rounded down to 1%. Some points probably got rounded off too.

The coping, seething and strawmanning is at stratospheric levels.

It'll all come to light.

its just a silly tournament with very little to gain or prove.
Still no news about points allocation??

I actually wonder, how many countries are taking it serous? I think for non Asians, the ladies are likely using it a stepping stone for jetlag/timezone to get to Japan for the finals. Other than that, I can't find 1 good purpose.

so min 3 per gender must play, a max of 4.

single
doubles
mixed doubles

Now if you are going to do pairing not meant for Paris, then what is the purpose of the pairing today?
reminder Paris teams is doubles, and singles (1 player has 2 singles, and the other 2 each having 1 singles) and then you get mixed doubles

And funny thing is, most Paris teams isn't even finalized yet.
since you tagged this zeio

indeed, this has been a useless tournaments with points allocation a joke.
players themselves said it is useless and shouldn't happen part of the build up to the olympic games

Exactly the opposite is true. This is the tournament that led to the addition of points for team events, which has a substantial effect on the seeding for singles events. If it weren't for this event and what happened subsequently, many of those players, 2 from TPE, will potentially be ranked and seeded lower. At the end of the day, those 2 players are reaping the benefits without contributing to the cause, or leechers, so to speak.

so compare to old ranking point method? what is the difference the players would have got?

compare it to say individual events like Contender?
