  • Slow Slow Slow
  • Outclassed by H3
So i've used this rubber forehand and backhand on my first blade and recently when making up 5 blades for my dad and his friends from old pre-mades i used 10 sheets i aquired for £35 or 3.50 per sheet .
It is really good for forehand for a beginner as its slow, but unlike a lot of very cheap rubbers that come bundled with blade provided good spin when used with proper technique (i'm looking at you pan-Asia)
It is workable on backhand due to the controlled nature but again not optimal, really its an improvers fh rubber or a beginner rubber.
Looping: well i usually use H3 Neo or H3 50, and after using those for almost 2 years looping with 729fx was different, much slower so you have to adjust the stroke, but once adjusted it works fine, slow but fine.

Driving: really the best stroke with this rubber is driving, its more of a close to the table rubber. Not speedy but fast enough.

Serve: quite good really, it produced good spin and keeps low enough and controlled enough for good serve placement.

Blocking: hard, very hard compared to most rubbers, its spin sensitive like H3 Neo but slower so you have to actively block a lot more than usual. if youre coming from pan asia or any europian style rubber it will take some adjustment

Chopping: well it can do backspin well but its not IMO a chopping rubber as its too spin sensitive.

All in all get it if you're new or have no money, its similar to globe 999 but softer and slower and often cheaper. If you can afford H3 neo its better at every stroke and still slow enough for a beginner, but an excellent way into the sport.

So I used this on a carbon blade for a while after first moving to it in the idea that aslow rubber and a carbon blade will be controllable when I want and fast when needed. This wasn't always true.

Speed:very slow, due to the soft slow sponge and top sheet this rubber is perfect fora beginner, it allows control and precise placement as well as an ability to create spin due to the dwell. However when back from the table and looping to win a point against a opponent a shot you put all your effort into can appear lacklustreas the rubber saps all the force from it. Also it bottoms out very easily.

Control:very good, spin produced is good however when receiving spin the rubber performed very well after moving from Chinese hard rubbers it was nice to have a more forgiving feeling, it also made it much easier to flip a serve back allowing an early attack. But if the attack went on for too long you could find yourself at the mercy or the lack of speed.

Spin:good when washed and new, the top sheet is fairly grippy and soft allowing good spin on every stroke.

Durability:this rubber has good durability, however if you do not look after it the rubber will loose spin fast, this rubber is perfect for beginners on a budget even those learning attacking as long as they buy an offensive blade(more like soft euro rubbers then the cheap Chinese offerings) however it will require a clean every or at most every other use to keep spin at a good level unlike the 729 normal which will continue to produce good spin(if not optimal) even when dirty.

HL3 Review
I only have had this blade for 2 months(90g) and it overtook my waldner legend carbon as mymain blade. The reasons are simple, similar speed levels, however much better control. Rubbers I used on it were:
H3(FH) + Joola RHYZM P(BH)

Sriver G3(fh+BH)

Speed: this blade is fast. Now I’ve only owned afew but they range from ALL+(timo) to the waldner legend carbon(10+ accordingto donic) and this is the fastest I’ve used, however it’s close to the donic. When away from the table or close you've got enough speed to hit a winner that’s all there is to it.
Control: due to the fact the ball seems to stick to the blade forever you can effortlessly move a ball about the table, but this comes at a price, if you cannot control the spin incoming to you it will really bite in and cause issues. But if you have the techniques down and can handle the opponents spin you can use the extra residence to your advantage and either use it for extra spin or for placement.

Hardness/durability: when I first got this blade I wouldhave considered it hard but not very hard. However when replacing the rubbers it became apparent the top is VERY soft, as in varnish or replace after a fewre-glues. Due to this the hardness and durability depends on your choice of lacquer. However it is still quite a hard blade and don’t expect a super soft thing.

Handle comments:

I sweat, A LOT, from my hands playing table tennis, and this blade handle is very ready to soak it in, now this isn’t an issuereally but don’t scratch it after playing as the wood handle when wet dents andscratches quite easily

So the donic Waldner legend carbon was my first adventure into compositeblades and from a non-expert side I'll share my views:

Speed: really quiet fast, a noticeable step up from a infinity VPS V, it'sstiffness allowed fast drives close to the table and due to the oversized headit had some flex allowing an extra fast gear from back from the table.

Control: well if you like hard blades then this is a great blade, f
rom the first time I used it I enjoyed the fact that wherever I angled theblade the ball followed without hesitation, in the long game it was great tooas the slight flex allowed for a bit of extra control dueto the increaseresidence time on the bat.

Spin: While in the short game you can take advantage of the snappycarbon feelof the blade the spin on harder shots is good, if this is down to the hinokiouter plies or the sizeof the face I do not know however good spin was producedwhen required, howevershort punchy shots the spin was disappointing.

Overall I would say this blade is suitable for most attacking players due tothe high amount of control in the blade as well as speed.
