!:Best Single Ply Hinoki Blade on Aliexpress and the Seller here, preferably Blades whyou played with and why
2:the Cheapest or best Price/Performance SIngle PLy Hinoki Blade from ALi Express with Sellern here.
The Reason for this is,because the litle Fella had played with my BTY Kiso Hinoki V and my Ribbers, and we did a light Falkenberg and multiball Variaton with him last time.
And THE othe reason is that maybe it could get Pricey and this Blade will him then given whe my Friend Thinks his Time has come.
This will be THE FAMILY HEIRLOOM for this sport we llove,so pls elorate why you choose your option,an the Seller (That is for me cause i never ordered from ALiExpress),
If you kindly Elaborate the charakteristiks of your choosen blade it would be even more fantastic.
It could even be a really Rare or Expensive BLade, but if its both Cheap and Amazing post it too.

Jpen or shakehand.

If JPen, then you are in happy happy land.

If shakehand, you are in a world of hurt as there are not many commercial variant available. Have to go bespoke.

Shakehand, and yes i know cpen have some great ones like Nittaku or so.
I would also gladly accept a Custom maker,it was just to find out which each and everyone finds has the criteria for a Table Tennis Blade worthy enough zo be considered Family tradition.
And i as a friend wanted to help him to bring back the fun for the Game in his son, cause his Dad played in the Roman National Team when he was young.
and SOme Idiots like me want to know the Tricks on Ali Express to find real vendoors for lets say a Yinhe #350 or something like that from Ali and how to find then Vendors who have those reputation (and will hopefully be no Scammers) cause I am new on ALi Express.nd trust members here who bought and preferably played with those blades.
And I am not gonna lie,i like to know hopw you fine SIr @Gozo Aruna got your Full Gozo from! :)

I got my Gozo Avenger Mark 1 from Stark Industry made in Wakanda.

According to Wakkibatty, the best hinoki blade combo would be a 1 ply combined with ak47 blues.

There are 3 measures for hinoki blade quality: age, density, and thickness. You want a blade with the most wood rings, highest mass, and most thickness. There are many types of hinoki but the most premium has always been the kiso hinoki from Japan. There's a shortage because of a recent ban on the logging of kiso hinoki trees.

Blade:
Darker Speed 90
from the hoarders on this forum

MOBY JAPAN Kiso Hinoki FL

Nittaku Miyabi FL

Yinhe Hinoki Kiso 5A

Rubber:
Palio AK47 Blue

Found Gozo's supplier of his "Gozo Avenger Mark 1 from Stark Industry made in Wakanda"

They specialize in making blades from kiso hinoki. You can choose wood quality, handle style, and blade thickness. The quality is as follows with Royal quality reserved for custom builds. It is worth noting that for custom builds you can exceed 11mm blade thickness and choose any shape and size blade face (eg cybershape) and any handle shape (eg tenaly). International delivery by Paypal.
Royal- top 5% of wood
Excellent- top 20%
Special- top 40%
Vocational- the rest

A custom blade from this place would truly be a family heirloom.

thx for your suggestions, have you al lplayed them?remember it should be a keepsake as Family Herloom.
can you pls link the site @Gozo Aruna ?or at least the multiverse where we can find the store .-)
Th @TackyForehand very interesting, you played with a Blade from Them?
thx @rbtitco you are right, yes its a great blade and as you said awesome value for the money, but it should be also handed down to the next generation.
It is also about "fun" so of course all is considered for it to be a Heirloom.

oh i was thinking about cheaper blade on ali express type. Keepsake? Find a darker 90 shakehand used. as a disclaimer, i never played one, but people rave about it, its thick tho. shakehand most people use thinner carbon/hinoki outer. I use a yasaka masamune, but thats a 7.2 mm shakehand three ply with a fuller face, so it might be what u want.
You could go custom, for a real, one of a kind, keepsake blade- that may be best.

@rbtitco yes that should be an Intention, but its not a bout cheap or expensive, altough that might factor in.
It is for the son of a Friend of mine.he got his Old Stiga handed down from his Father which is from he late80s,so he wants to do the Same.
Yes the Darker Speed 90 is well known so maybe somebody who played it could chime in why he thinks ts worthy as a "heirloom" or "keepsake".
AS you could do why you chose Your Yasaka masamune instead of the Septear? There is also the Nittaku Cypress Hinoki 5.22 and 7.22 so maybe someone played those over the Septear which is also a 7 ply.
Its about the Value of some Blades Playing charakteristiks which is why they want to pass it on to the next generation.
Maybe there is also a correlation of some Drills who got passed on from coaching also to iot,and maybe some more forehand oriented Players choose those Cypress or Hinoki,or Sköllarwood from @Wakkibatty or @hipnotic SDC Blades ,Vodak you name it,over others and why they value them so much to pass it on.
Or we got some guys who got really a Yinhe #350 or 300+ Year Old Blades ,the expensive ones and why.
The positive effect of this can also be attributed, less roding of Kiso Trees cause they should be passed on,if some Really don´t break a Single Ply for Generations maybe you get an Award from Japans Forrestial Ambasserie, lol.
I hope i brought my points across and thank all who haveresponded and will respond, and feel free to describe why .
I find that EJ rabbithole fascinating :)

And yes it can be from ALi express, but it can also b e expensive as there are many Yine blades,so maybe you can get your hands on some #150 #250 or even #350 which i haven´t found on ali.
But you can also Link good vendoors if they shi them to Europe,Some even say that Yinhe has better Hinoki from Kiso than BTY or Darker.
That is why i ask you fine Folks, maybe but only maybe we get the Gozo Avenger Mark 1 from Stark industries to Germany!

I like em solid with absolutely no vibration. Pair it with soft bouncy rubber, that allows the ball to sink into the sponge thus increasing the surface and ball contact duration = increase rotation = Happy me!!!

nice arc and spin on the Swing, and you hit the ball well.
I do the exact opposite,I play with hard rubbers ,Tensors of course but linear enough and less bouncy cause the BTy KIso 5 has some Vibrations, but not as much, the handle is great from it and dampens, but the blade itself has a lot of Bounce of his own.
It is medim STiff and has some Flex to it,but by no means as Stiff as some single Plies.
Thx for SHaring

So the best Hinoki for 15.000 Taiwanese new Dollar is approximately 40 Euros? You get a single Ply for only 40 Euros?

Ok was pretty sure i Made a Mistake, its the Royal for 15.000 that is 400!!! for a Single ply, have you ever tried that Hinoki and the Blade?

If it is for something to keep, put on the wall, look at and enjoy, get a Darker Speed 90 brand new from Darker.

If it is for a 13 year old kid to use and play, if the kid plays shakehand, a one ply Hinoki blade would be a thick, awkward, heavy, blade that could limit the kid's development because of the thickness of the blade, the weight of the blade and how a 13 year old would be limited in how he handled the blade (manipulated the blade in his hands for different shots).

Also, it is worth knowing that, one ply blades, while they feel great, are very easy to break. If a 13 year old kid, even a very careful 13 year old kid, was using one, it would be notably more likely to split in two as a result of the details of the life of a 13 year. If it is hanging on a wall and not used for playing TT, that would not be an issue. If it was being used and the kid put it in his schoolbag for after school recreation, it is almost guaranteed to break at some point unless you got a solid, hard shell racket case for it and the kid used that case.

For someone whose body is still developing, a 5 or 7 ply Hinoki blade would be preferable for sooooo many reasons. Darker 7p-2a or Darker 7p-2a.7t would be an excellent choice even though they are very very fast. The 7p-2a.7t that I have used is faster than any Viscaria I have ever tried. But they are still excellent. The 7p-2a is not as fast as the 7p-2a.7t.

It is a beautiful blade and the wood is of such quality that it made me think, this should be hung on a wall instead of played with when I put rubbers on the one I tried.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

I am using the Royal version but bespoke. Extra thick ( 10.5mm ) and shakehand version, tailor made. The weight is 107g without rubber.

Best feeling, no pesky vibration.

Just for visuals:

It is easy to find visuals for this. The reason is, the single ply can split down the grain of the blade. The reason multiply wood is stronger and harder to break is because the plies of any layer can be placed perpendicular to the layer above or below.

In a blade, how the plies are laid depends on how the blade maker designs the blade. So, there could be two plies one on top of the other with the grain parallel to each other. That would give a blade more flex. But there will be at least one layer that is set with the grain perpendicular to the other layers. And usually, the grain would alternate vertical-horizontal-vertical-horizontal-vertical in most ply constructions. This is part of why you frequently find 3, 5, 7 or 9 ply blades but not 4, 6 or 8 ply blades. But there are some 6 ply blades that I have seen. So, it is not a strict rule. Just a general principle.

Carl,

My Mark 1 has survived some pretty wild droppage. Twice drop from table height and once I hit my partner during doubles and the blade flew half way across the TT room. Pretty scary moment but no split, thank god!

I believe it is because mine is extra thick and extra dense that shielded it from imminent destruction.

Max rubber and thick foamy side tape also helped l guess.

I played many 1-ply JPY penholds in the past, and retained BTY KTS in red logo, XIOM RSM Platinum and a very old BTY 9mm Cypress-S. But 1-ply penholds and shakehands are the same logic.

When coming to HINOKI wood, I would not purchase from Aliexpress if I were you. If you can get someone who speaks Mandarin, there are some excellent tailored sellers on Taobao's Xianyu market. For branded bladed, it is worth looking into Yinhe's 3A and 5A as well.

Another choice is yahoo auction; I would assume brands like Darker, Kokutaku make new shakehands. There should be used Butterfly SENKOH as well.

If you absolutely can only order from Aliexpress, just get the pricest that's within your budget. Afterall it's all about that piece of wood.
