Recordings of me playing with my senior

I am the player with glasses.
This is recorded in school earlier today from 1.30pm to 3pm.

This series of videos are more of test waters for later videos. Please comment on techniques. I video down many of my plays to see where i can improve. Obviously my stance is not correct and likely too high. I am willing to hear feedback for improvement 😀.

Background of my senior, he is 15 and was in his primary schools table tennis CCA, Co-Curricular Activities, basically like a programme that is mandatory to all primary and secondary school students in Singapore. He has been playing since 9, so a year less than me.

Looking at your vid; then your age.
1. Your English is darn good for a kid your age.
2. Your school teach you well, my padawan.
3. As for your game play, all I can say is, get a proper of professional coach before bad habits are set in permanently.
4. Good luck my young friend. Love your enthusiasm for this sport.

Thank you @Gozo Aruna . About going for coaching I'll have to save up myself to go for coaching, and not many coaches teach penhold, let alone Jpen now. I guess for now YouTube and this forum will be my coach.

Wow! You are a great player, you can make good shots, your RPB is well, as well as TPB.

However, as I'm watching the videos, I see a few problems.

Your footwork needs work, and some of your strokes are too passive.

Your forehand stroke is also a little off (just a little, nothing a little work can't fix!)

If you want to fix on those, get a coach. If you can't, search for Xu Xin, Wang Hao and Ryu Seung Min tutorial videos, there are a few floating around.

This is what I was asking for in my previous thread, Gozo. Why are you trolling me 💀 and only me

Good on you to post videos! Asking for feedback is going to be the best way you can learn, especially with a coach.

1) try to stay a little lower
2) your backswing is too large. it goes too far back. its not causing you any problems now because the rallys are not too fast, but once your level improves and rallys speed up, you wont have time to swing that far back.

in the meantime, before you can have a real coach, there are a lot of good videos to show you proper technique for forehand drive and forehand loop.

1. In your original post you told us you played for a year with coaching.
2. Meanwhile you show us a vid of a goofing around play, my assumption of course.
3. Only later you show us a proper training video.
4. My response would have different if you had shown the proper training vid.
5. And yet for these reasons I received flak for being a troll.

PD channel should help. Just need to get rid of habits before they are here to stay.

Fair

I wasn't really goofing around, just not giving it my all. Also, I forgot to say it but I was just asking for my forehand stroke, because that was my main focus of the videos.

Yeah I was talking about them. Theyre great, especially RSM's tutorials
Yeah. My other resources is the MLFM Table Tennis YouTube channel. That was where i picked up RPB.

Know about all 3, just maybe not full list.
Good, I forgot to mention my friend @zhzhzhz I know him quite well, he's a Chinese penholder and a great player
Actually who made me interested to sign up in this forum was @SFF_lib responses in a foru. I believe was about the Darker Speed jpens.
Call him up too if you want! I've never seen him before...

Edit: I clicked on his acc and I immediately recognized the pfp lol

Nah ur pretty honest and analytical urself bro, you just troll a lot
What you call trolling here on the internet is the equivalent of someone telling you the truth in a social setting.
You admittedly posted a bad video where you weren't even giving your best and then expect that people should give their time to watch it and tell you things to help you.

You can't ask for peoples opinions and then scold them when you get them.
Remember this key thing, you asked for the opinions. Asking for an opinion is different to someone randomly coming along and interjecting when you don't welcome it.
If you don't like an opinion you can choose to ignore it but arguing with people for giving what you asked for is a bit silly.

I advised you 14 posts into your thread that there's a better forum for feedback in here but instead of doing that and getting on with it you're back chastising Gozo in someone else's video thread 😂
BTW, Tyce gave an even more harsh and honest assessment in post 16 and also said you are goofing off but you seem ok with that 🤷‍♂️

Let it go kid, let it go.
Your 1st video was so unfit for purpose that people could easily conclude you to be the initial troll 😉
