I spoke to Omoda earlier

she had to finish the league match, have a meeting, then have 2 hours english class, and then have a 1 hour call with me (I was planning for max 20 mins) before she can rest and continue more league match tomorrow.

This is her result today

The picture you uploaded I’m assuming the 4th match is her with the 1 before her name. When I copy that name on Google translate it does pop up as Menda.
her playing number is 1, so you looking at the correct name
in Chinese/Japanese it is 面田采巳
In English, it is Kotomi Omoda

I assume this is a translation problem, you can't just use translation software for names.
I normally just ask for passport and make use of the passport translation.
I have the same issues with Taiwanese players :)

Good to know that Kotomi Omoda is the correct legal name. I check the Harimoto siblings and Google translate was right so I guess it has issues with some translations.

How to read Japanese names is a finicky matter. Sometimes special readings will be used or readings that go against your judgment so I would never trust machine translation for that.

I see the correct name in grey
Then the correct and incorrect name in red.
So did you use google translate to translate the website and came up with the incorrect name?

This means google translate is the problem, no one used the wrong name, the correct name is used in English too
Yes, but in grey, there is a top name and a bottom name with different characters. The bottom name is what Google Translate translates to Menda Aimi. I provided a link to the original you can click on to see for yourself.

That's not how any of this works!!! The kana explains how to translate to the kanji. Without it, you could end up with the wrong translation like you have. There is no other translation of her name. Please stop telling this.

Google is wrong
the website already gives her name in English too.
so why do you want to trust what google translate uses?
