what are they going to do?I was waiting for someone to post this. I hope ITTF does not come after him now.
Without his comment this thread will be grey and dullDon't let Igor see this, we'll never hear the end of it...
you did hear he did say add little booster after the white glue right?Although there is an opinion that the booster should be applied to the glue layer, I always tried to apply the booster to the sponge and only then the glue and for me this works best. It is great that Zhang Jike confirmed this!
Now I have a sneaking thought that applying the booster to the glue was invented by the booster manufacturers in order to increase the consumption and, accordingly, speed up the purchase of the booster![]()
I was suprised, that he also does this with the brand new Donic J series rubber, which actually should not need it. Based on my limited experience with them (J1 and J2 for around 3 hours) really don't need booster.
I believe he is conditioned to put booster on every blue sponge he findsHow he knows? He doesn't have your experience![]()
It’s a bit of a grey area now when it comes to boosting even though players still do it themselves. I just hope ITTF reverses the ban on not allowing players to boost their rubbers themselves. Makes no sense to allow factory boosting but not allowing players to boost their own rubbers.what are they going to do?
put him in jail?
boosting is not against the law
I've got to say that his idea that halls with higher ceilings result in "higher air pressure making it harder to play" is utter bollocks.I am also pleased that Zhang Jike confirmed my observation about the speed and rotation of the ball in different halls. Among the players I personally know, I am the only one who has different equipment for different halls.
the problem is, there are few igor fans in that spot and they coming out with food testers to check for boostersIt’s a bit of a grey area now when it comes to boosting even though players still do it themselves. I just hope ITTF reverses the ban on not allowing players to boost their rubbers themselves. Makes no sense to allow factory boosting but not allowing players to boost their own rubbers.
I don’t think anyone that is currently working for ITTF will change the rules anytime soon.
I think it was mistranslated, the translation on that channel is dodgyI've got to say that his idea that halls with higher ceilings result in "higher air pressure making it harder to play" is utter bollocks.
P.S.: Wouldn't surprise me if he said something completely different and it was mistranslated.
a lot of people do it, this is to allow the curve to go naturally and not to have any support (ie flat surface) on the edges.I don't like how he places the rubber on a bottle top to dry. It places more tension on one point so that spot would dry to be a little different. I know he wants to let the rubber curl naturally but I think it's better to lay it on top of a rolling pin or long curved surface.
some people do it,Booster on top of glue only ruins the glue
Higher altitude -> more rarefied air-> faster/spinnier ballI think it was mistranslated, the translation on that channel is dodgy
and they probably making a killing from doing it.
higher ceiling, would have more air in the hall
those, ball will be slower / more resistance.
air pressure is with altitude
