He’s using Xiom on the BH. Can’t remember which one. Is he sponsored by DHS, I thought they are quite strict in terms of players having to use all DHS equipment?

No, DHS allows sponsored players to use any rubber on backhand, since many players do not like to play backhand with sticky Chinese rubber. Ma Long was using Tenergy for a long time, Xue Fei uses D09c, Jang Woojin uses some Victas rubber, and quite a lot of the women's team (Wang Yidi, Chen Xintong, Kuai Man) uses Tenergy or Dignics on backhand. I believe @Heming Hu also used Tenergy while sponsored by DHS.

I wonder if he switched to it because he actually likes it or because CNT wanted someone to use Hugo’s rubber so they can prepare for him

Interesting, some Chinese are switching to ESN rubbers. Maybe Lin Gaoyuan was the first, then Zhou Qihao now Xiang Peng and Chen Yuanyu.

Play both C52.5, C55 (briefly) and D09C on BH.

C series had way more control without lacking power.
