I will never have enough blades!
I would agree with this. Performance-wise, probably equal? Yinhe I think has more variety and yes, better overall finish. (Although I had to sand the edges of the wings on my Pro 11s, which is a ~$50 blade. So that was a little disappointing.)They both have very good budget bladesI would say that for the entry-level blades, Yinhe has better finishing.
ahh great! I was thinking of buying a Pro 11s. Would you give a review? Thanks!I would agree with this. Performance-wise, probably equal? Sanwei handles are a little beefier, Yinhe a little closer to average/narrow, if that helps.
Loki also has some nice quality budget options.
I actually was planning to update my post here in the next day or two when I have time to write something more thought-out, but the short version is: I like it a lot, but it isn't perfect. It has really helped me understand/reinforced what I do and don't like in a blade. I do think it manages to effectively feel like a different blade on each side, which I wanted. The backhand (outer ALC+koto) side is awesome.ahh great! I was thinking of buying a Pro 11s. Would you give a review? Thanks!
isn't it a different carbon?I actually was planning to update my post here in the next day or two when I have time to write something more thought-out, but the short version is: I like it a lot, but it isn't perfect. The only reasons I don't love it are 1) the wood selection on the FH (spruce-ayous) works fine but I'd rather have limba-ayous or even limba-spruce; and 2) the handle is smaller than I prefer. I'm also not 100% sure how I feel about PLC. Spruce-ayous-PLC is just such a different combination than I've used on anything before that it's hard to tell.
But at $45 (on sale) it feels like a blade that outperforms its price tier. For anyone who loves the Viscaria feeling on BH but wishes it had a softer touch on FH, the Pro 11s is worth a try.
Yes; the FH is PLC and the BH is ALC. I've never used PLC, but it's supposedly a lower-cost alternative to ZLC with similar properties.isn't it a different carbon?
It may depend on the blade. My Pro 11s handle is narrower than the Yasaka and Sanwei blades I've had, but my coach has a Yinhe with a nice, full handle. (His is a custom blade, though, not a commercially-produced one.)For me Yinhe FL handles (N10, Uranus U2, Pro 03/05) are the best blade handles I had, fits perfectly in my hand. Feel kind of bulky. I don't like thinner FL handles like Yasaka, Stuor, Sanwei - there I would have to go with ST handle.
Ok good to learn this Pro 11S is on the thinner side, it looked really interesting for me. If it had limba on the FH it would be a no brainer. With spruce I am not so sure, never played with such outer ply. Thanks for elaborating on the handle though. It may depend on the blade. Yinhe has the ST option in most of their blades except for the pen blades. If you use ST handles like me, you'll need to go with sanwei, they offer it in a few ALL/OFF blades . While yinhe only has a couple of DEF blades.
I'll believe when I see them in AliYinhe has the ST option in most of their blades except for the pen blades.
AFAIK, this option is available for the bulk orders from Yinhe, but unfortunately Ali sellers just don't seem to bother.I'll believe when I see them in Ali
