I think Boll/Franziska had to win to have a chance. Even if Boll beats Ma Long, I don't see Franziska winning over FZD to see the last match.

I must say, I was always a bit 'skeptical' of Dima because he always seemed a bit arrogant for me. But in the past years I thought of him as a really humble likeable person. His social media 'apperance' and how he acted after the win just shows it. Glad he won, he definitely deserved it.

All semi finals and above are top notch. Audience or not. Could have been better with one - maybe. A non chinese final would have been super cool tho

One last time hoping Boll gets past (if FZD has a bad day, which is unlikey) and takes a singles medal in his career. But probably won't happen :( Guess a team medal it is again, where he always seemed to be better in the past olympics - remembering 2012 China vs Germany where he beat ZJK.

Update about Boll, turn english subtitles on I feel like Boll is really plagued by bad luck. Bad draws, where he meets the best in quarterfinals or now illness when he had a pretty good chance of getting a medal..

Tbh, I feel like he always holds back a little bit when he plays against Dimitri, maybe because he is a close friend - I don't know. But rewatch the point in the 2nd set from 10-5 to 10-6. How he moves in this extent with ducking/dodging, whatever you want to call it. I have only seen this...
