I think the 8 is spinnier but also more sensitive to spin than the 7. I think the 8 is a bit better for flicks and has better top end performance and a little bit better ball feel. The 7 is perhaps a bit more stable and easy to use.

Are ALX and ALXi really discontinued? They still show up in all the catalogs. If ALXi is discontinued I'm swearing off of Xiom blades forever. I've been using Xiom ALXi for a couple of years and have developed quite a lot with it. It has a great feel and handle.

This has become a problem with many TT equipment companies. They make a blade for a short amount of time, the blade gets a decent userbase and a good reputation and then they yank the blade off the market. Xiom might be the worst offender but it's become pretty bad across every company other...

Has anyone managed to try the Omega 8 Hybrid?

I used to have one with the flared handle and the handle was too big for my hand. The big handle combined with the head heaviness made it hard to hold for me. Nice blade otherwise. Thick core and very powerful.

I'm using this combination on my Xiom ALXi and it's awesome. The weight is very manageable for a hybrid rubber.
