You could watch these two videos on backhand technique by Seth Pech and compare to your technique. This should work with any rubber, i.e., I can play a Yinhe Moon 12 (blue) or a DHS GoldArc 42.5° or even a DHS H3 Neo and the technique still works. Even short pips with sponge (Yinhe Uranus Pro).
