The current types of speed glue that contains VOC are quite different from past early 2000's. The effects are much less comparing to that of the past. I think the new sponge/rubber are no longer sensitive to VOC so the glue effect is not as strong.

I have played with A1 for a few months now. Not as hard as C2, it is moderately tacky after breaking in, and easy to play with, and good for both short game close to table and mid-distance drive and loop.
As long as it won't affect you playing, it is just a cosmetic issue. Next time you may want to try a wider edge tape (12 mm) to cover the edge of rubber sheet better.
