  1. DHS Hurricane King acB Review

This blade is way too soft and mushy—great for the short game, blocking, and touch play. However, it lacks that crisp, direct feedback needed for topspin attacks, especially on the forehand side. It just doesn't produce enough power to put the point away.
  2. Thread about Japanese Players

I think in just a few years, nobody from CNT will be able to stop Sora Matsushima
  3. Timo boll spirit - surprised how good it is :)

You have accurately described the advantages of the Timo Boll ALC line. It is very stable and easy to play
  4. Viscaria ALC vs Fan Zhendong ALC help me decide (Dignics 09C / 05 setup)

I have played a lot with both of these blades, and I can give you some insights as follows: Fan ALC: More stable (for example, when doing counter-hitting drills, the ball easily lands on a consistent spot), has a slightly lower arc, and features a larger handle (as an Asian with small hands, I...
  5. To be a BH looper, or to be a BH controller, that is the question.

I think you will also struggle against backhand-dominant players as well
  6. Anyone know video coach Ti Long?

Ti Long only won some junior tournaments and is basically unknown in Vietnam. I’m not going to discuss whether the techniques he teaches in the video are right or wrong. But top players either don’t know him, or simply don’t rate him highly. How can I say that, because I train with them every week.
  7. DHS Long 5 or DHS King Acb?

I’m currently playing with both of these blades, and the Long 5 is better for forehand. The King ACB produces a lower arc, and I have to put much more effort from my legs and waist into the shot. My loops with the King ACB look more like smashes haha.
  8. DHS Hurricane 3 Neo: The Complete Amateur Guide & Review

Great article Victor, my experience was exactly the same as yours. I also failed many times trying to make H3 work on the backhand side, and in the end I still went back to D09C. When the power comes from the legs, then the waist, and finally explodes through the arm, H3 makes that amazing...
  9. Loki adc special vs dhs w968

My Loki ADC feels hard as a rock. The arc it produces is much lower than the DHS W968, and it has almost no feeling at all. I threw it back into the box after just a few test sessions.
  10. Big Upset with W968 Golden Grand Slam Version

From the way you describe it, your playing style is similar to Ma Long and the older generation of players, so using the DHS Hurricane Long 5 is absolutely the right choice. I also agree that Butterfly Viscaria lacks control and stability, but that was only when I was at a lower level. As my...
  11. I wasted 12 years of my life trying to play table tennis

Maybe this guy doesn’t suffer from the EJ syndrome — buying table tennis equipment impulsively like I do — so he finds table tennis meaningless now :D
  12. Big Upset with W968 Golden Grand Slam Version

You are one of the lucky people here. And maybe your rubber replacement process is very careful, and you also use good glue. But not everyone is like that. I agree that the Q and W series are excellent for a forehand topspin-oriented game, with a high arc and heavy spin, but they are not...
  13. Big Upset with W968 Golden Grand Slam Version

All DHS blades are like that — extremely poor quality regardless of the price range, or whether the outer ply is Limba or Koto: Q968, FangBo B2X, 301X, King ACB... The issue becomes slightly better when I use Yasaka NORISUKE glue.
  14. Playing too much backhand in matches

I also use my backhand even on the forehand side of the table, but that’s mainly because my backhand technique is better, and I’m comfortable with that. If you have a good backhand technique, why not?
  15. Need some insight in Fang Bo B2X

I haven’t played with Yinhe blades, so I can’t really give you advice on them. But personally, I would never seriously consider blades from Yinhe, Loki, or similar brands. To me, only Butterfly and DHS have truly unique characteristics that are worth paying for, while most other brands are...
