  1. Trying to take my game to a new level

I've been playing for 10 years, I've represented my county at junior and cadet level and I've been part of the eastern region A squad. It's more some things in my game I feel that r holding me back and need to work on. I understand about not imitating players cos as u say it doesn't go well...
  2. Trying to take my game to a new level

Right, in simple terms I'm not as good as I want to be right now. I lack consistency when it comes to match play. I'm either very average or come out and look like a world beater (not in the sense I'm as good as that but believe me I look a hell of a lot better play when I'm on fire). Negatives...
  3. How to do tomohawk/reverse tomohawk?

Yeah I'm trying to find vids. Players you just normally see doing the serve without breaking it down. Ping skills did it on how to get ball lower and how to do it penhold. If anyone has links to shakehand tomahawk tutorial vids that would be useful.
  4. How to do tomohawk/reverse tomohawk?

Hey I'm trying to learn new serves as it is one of the weakest parts of my game (yeah bit bad when its one of the most crucial things). I would actually say I'm a very good player (but obviously no where near the best) but trouble is my serves are not intimidating. Other than perhaps my reverse...
  5. Ask Paul Drinkhall a question!

Thanks for replying. But if I want to play mid distance, how do I get them to hit a ball so its not dropping by the time it gets to me? Does it involve playing either a spinny or fast shot to get that return closer to the table and then stepping back to play mid distance? Plus can this be...
  6. Ask Paul Drinkhall a question!

Hey Paul just saw your comment about warming up from further back if you play mid distance, might have to try that. I'm not the tallest at 6"0/6"1 but I often feel cramped up at the table. Do you have any tips for relaxing during matches since I normally feel I'm better in training than matches...
  7. English National Championships 2015

I would guess there must be some sort of ranking restriction. A friend who is top 200 juniors was there and a girl who is quite high in cadets I know was playing. But yesterday was a qualification round for some events so maybe?
  8. Matchplay psychology: How do you react to a point-losing error?

I try jumping up and day to get rid of adrenalin but I haven't really found anything yet. Closest thing is looking to ceiling, can mean u kind of take a timeout from seeing table tennis around you
  9. Matchplay psychology: How do you react to a point-losing error?

Just don't show ur frustration so ur opponent doesnt get a boost. But I'm awful at this, never used to be, I have no problem with losing, particularly if they are playing better or are better than me but I can't handle the amount of silly errors I make that I don't in training. When I show its...
  10. How Many Styles Can You Play?

Does it count as a style if u can also play left handed? Cos that's the only thing I've got.
  11. Making of the Butterfly Catalogue 2015

Been here! It's great! Don't know why but always seem to like behind the scene things
  12. How to play at a consistent high level?

I'll certainlly try remember to do that
  13. How to play at a consistent high level?

Ghost zen kind of. Sandra has a girls session which has few boys which is really for young beginners. Lee doesn't coach, I still can't get his serves back and he's never explained it well. My dads the main coach, he can set drills but can't really do much more for me now than that
  14. How to play at a consistent high level?

Yeh I need to learn to learn and move on from previous points but your so right about getting cheap points. Played someone and from 0-0 did fast serve and got free point
  15. How to play at a consistent high level?

Oh yeh he is definitely above my level we watched him play some shots and he totally ripped through his dads serve. But there coming to our club more now and there giving a lot of advice to us juniors so hopefully that will help a lot. My aim in future will to be to get to the point I can play...
