A suggested equipment change is to slow the table down by using a more dampening material or surface. This could be introduced only at the top level and would not be as radical as a net size or table size change. Sort of clay court for table tennis.
I use continuous (progressive) varifocals and have no issues at all. There are different grades of lens and I have found that it is important to get the highest grade possible - the better ones giving better peripheral vision as well. I use the glasses for every aspect of daily life and no...
I would not recommend it. It curls up like a swiss roll and gluing is then problematic. I also think you'd lose some of the flat kill benefit of the combination of high tackiness and thin hard sponge.
I suppose you could challenge your opponent as to the legality and if you are convinced its illegal, call the referee. However, if no testing equipment is available that limits what's possible. Most of the tournaments in the UK I play in state in the rules that equipment testing may take place...
Less power from distance can be solved by using a faster blade. I use ultra-thin sponge on the equivalent of a Tibhar IV-S blade and there is no lack of power. The tackiness of the topsheet still gives plenty of control.
Any of these ultra-thin options would give him heavy chop. My recommendation would be the Sun version 0.7, which is very tacky. I use the 1.2 as its more versatile if you want to flat hit.

Leaving aside the legality, if he deliberately uses that part of the rubber (having moved his finger out of the way first), he risks hitting a poor shot as much as a good one. You can actually get a different effect by hitting the ball where the embossed rubber name is but I doubt anyone...
I recently took one along to our club to practice with, now the league season has ended. I put AK47 red sponge on the FH and it does not lack power. Because the grip leads to quite a closed face on the FH I loosened the grip. This had the effect of varying the angle of the stroke each time and...
As someone whose game is based on deceiving opponents by disguising the spin in normal play, I am totally against any proposal that makes the spin easier to read.
