Thanks for sharing. The outer layer on my blade is quite thick, nearly 1 mm. I think there might be some PC controlled CNC milling machine that might be able to remove that layer but I don't know how to find one.

Very interesting. I got a brand new Kokutaku 9 layer hinoki blade which was as stiff as a brick. I "clipped it's wings" and it is now playable but still not much fun. Wonder what method there is, other than my pocket knife, to cleanly remove the top layer an both sides ????????????????

there is nothing random about it. Whether they tax you or not depends on the country they post it to AND if they have a deal with this country to collect the taxes on their behalf. Therefore, as you are a traveler, you can go and stay in a country that has no deal with aliex 😆

I do understand your concern but would like to say that the only reason freight from china is either very cheap or free is because it is all shipped by consolidated freight. I just ordered """ 1 rubber""" I can observe how it slowly travels from sorting center to sorting center inside...

When i do get into shops here, most products on sale are made in china anyway, only 3 times more expensive

very thoughtful and generous of you. I prefer buying from china and pay only a 3rd of what it costs in a shop here. I also get it delivered to my door instead of having to start up the car and drive to a shop.

it is different from country to country. In the case of NZ it has already been a while. Before, small parcels with a declared value of (maybe) under NZ$ 100 were coming through customs without being charged any taxes. I think it was pressure from the local retailers that made the government...

Same here, I buy just about everything from Aliex not only my TT-gear but also my socks , shorts and car wind- screen wipers etc etc. 🤣 ............and the government takes 15 % of everything.

got absolutely nothing to do with Aliex. They are simply now collecting on behalf of the governments.So when the parcel arrives at your custom there won't be any tax to be paid anymore.
