for pendulum serve receives you would go with the spin if you banana, so that would make it easier and the spin not that reactive...

When playing doubles, RH serve vs RH receive, does the angle work against backhand (banana) flick? Especially with side-underspins?

Your opening loops are a little weak (as are mine) so you nee to step back a little further and be better setup for the hard balls...

You can do both. Giving just top spin is the "clean" one but in a match or against top spin it can be better to give it a bit side spin...
