  1. My experience with Copydex

Even one layer on the blade + one layer on the rubber is enough for me, even for blades that received a thin varnish layer :)
  2. Penhold Rubber Selection Advice

Which Rakza Soft are you talking about? :)
  3. Penhold Rubber Selection Advice

What I'd advise is to get something a little softer and lighter than the TG3. This is a very good rubber for FH, but not the easiest one for the backhand (plus I think it's quite heavy, if my memory serves me well?). I'd go for something a bit more dynamic, Rakza 7 Soft can be a good choice...
  4. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Hey guys, I'm really curious... We all are penholders here and, from what I can see, many of us play in parts of the world where shakehand grip is ultra-widespread, and penhold grip is almost non-existent. I'm wondering how you managed to learn penhold in the first place, and how you keep...
  5. First paddle recommendations for penhold

I agree with Trumpet_guy. I have a YEO, and would not recommend it for a beginner / intermediate player, especially not for a looper. It's a very good blade, but it's definitely not for looping. It's a blade for power loops and killing the point early, like Ma Lin did (for once, the blade...
  6. First paddle recommendations for penhold

As for the blade, Yasaka Sweden Extra seems like a good choice indeed. You can also try an allround blade from Stiga, such as Allround Classic or Allround NCT. Stick to this kind of blades with good control so you can learn the strokes quietly. Stiga and Yasaka provide a lot of their blade with...
  7. Stiga Genesis II

    Feels much softer though.
  8. Stiga Genesis II

To be clear, what do you mean by more power? Do you refer to the rubber "max speed", or to the ease to obtain the speed (I'd call that "dynamism" if I translate from French, not sure what term is used on English-speaking forums)?
  9. Stiga Genesis II

Thanks for the feedback :D So definitely, this Genesis II seems to be tackier than the first gen. I'm surprised that it's so spin-sensitive though, would have thought that the tackiness should absorb part of the spin on passive blocks, like H3 or other tacky rubbers? As for short game, you say...
  10. Stiga Genesis II

Thanks guys for your feedback ! I've been playing with a Genesis M on my FH for a while now (2 seasons ?), switched to a H3 Neo Nittaku at the end of last season, but not really sure if I'm going to stick with it yet. I noticed the Genesis got a new version and was wondering how it felt. Do you...
  11. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

85g would be my absolute upper limit for a penhold blade (in shakehand, it was more around 90-95g). And did you think of Stiga Offensive CR ? 5 plys, hard outer ply, flexy, and I'd say quite lightweight. It looks exactly like what you're looking for.
  12. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Did you count me in ? :)
  13. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Really nice game, thanks for sharing. I like how you guys play a controlled game on the first shots. I'm sorry for not going back further in the topic, but how long have you been playing PH? Your FH seems great, no wonder your opponent keeps playing on your backhand side. I do hope you'll send...
  14. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Funny... is it the same Bai He that's now playing for French Pro A team "Loire Nord TT" ? It's just 30km from where I live, I didn't have a change to go and see them play this year, but he seems to be the same player. @suds79 : do you have unusually large hands / a very small racquet head...
  15. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

I'd say Stiga Offensive Classic rather than AC. OC is not that fast, it's thin and flexy. I couldn't play with it in shakehand, typically the kind of blades I don't like (I prefer less flexible blade, played with a lot of "thin 7-plys" or "thick 5-plys" blades), but a partner of mine tried it...
