Just a theory but I think cold, heat (humidity) affects the sponges, I experience this when I'm playing in an air conditioned area and is set on the lowest temp I feel the sponge becomes slightly hard (using rozena 2.1mm on both sides) dwell time becomes shorter that makes looping more harder...

Try considering Sanwei Fextra 7, it is an 7 ply all wood blade (similar to Stiga Clipper wood structure) its wood layers are Limba, Limba, Ayous, Ayous, Ayous, Limba, Limba, I use it with Der Materialspezialist Spinfire soft 2.1mm on my FH, I can flat hit, loop and block with control.
