  1. Why do you play table tennis?

I enjoy playing table tennis because it's a complex game that I can study and make meaningful and measurable improvements. It feels amazing to identify a shortcoming, work hard to address it, and see the positive result at the end of the process. It's also a great avenue of exercise for me...
  2. Share your Racket's Photo

My primary setup is the ZJK ALC that I loop and rpb with quite comfortably. My experimentation setup is this Yasaka YEO7P. It's heavier than the ALC and helps me get into better form. Before hand I was using a dhs premade, surprisingly actually a decent off- setup. It's my first ever...
  3. Yinhe T1S layers

I see a place lists this as cypress, carbon, paulownia, carbon, cypress.
  4. What are some great matches to watch?

    This one came to mind. <yt-formatted-string force-default-style="" class="style-scope ytd-video-primary-info-renderer" style="word-break: break-word;"></yt-formatted-string>
  5. Higher or lower throw

I prefer a medium to high throw on the forehand since I have more fun with spin than speed. It also makes it a bit safer to lift heavy back spin.
  6. Very close-up photos: Yasaka Extra Offensive 7 Power

Last month I shared a similar set of photos on the Butterfly ZJK ALC. This time I created another set of macrophotography photos for my first custom blade, the Yasaka Extra Offensive 7 Power in penhold configuration. I'm not 100% sure of YEO7P's ply construction, but my assumption is...
  7. Very close-up photos: Butterfly ZJK ALC

Thanks! I have a couple other blades. I will try to take and share some photos later.
  8. Very close-up photos: Butterfly ZJK ALC

The arylate fiber bundles and carbon fiber bundles are weaved together into a sheet. There's a clearer photo of what the ALC sheet looks like on the butterfly site: butterflyonline.com/butterfly-table-tennis-technology/
  9. Very close-up photos: Butterfly ZJK ALC

I took some macro photos of my favorite blade and gotta see the 5+2 plies, plus the clearly porous nature of the Tenergy 05 and Rakza 7 soft sponges. Up close, it's interesting to see the non-uniformity of the wood used in blade construction.
  10. What blade and rubbers do you use? Why?

I'm a penhold player who recently evolved from an single-sided-rubber tpb cpen setup to the modern penhold style with a surprisingly serviceable rpb. Blade: Yasaka Extra Offensive 7 Power FH: Rakza 7 max BH: Rakza 7 Soft max Weight: 182g The thinness of the blade made it easier to rpb even...
