  1. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

I wonder what Tony and the table tennis coaches he knows in China have to say about this "choke" from Harimoto. I remember they had a lot to say about Wang Chuqin consecutive run of points lost against ZQH a few years ago.

Does China have a similar system with different salary tiers for their players? Do you have any insider info? I knew that ML/XX and the other big stars used to earn more from the CSL, which is to be expected, but I didn't know how it worked for monthly renumeration and benefits.

Beautiful diversity. Tony would love this.
  4. ITTF WTTTC Finals London 2026, 4/28-5/10

Harimoto is not always the nexus around which decisions on whom to pick are made. IfAnd the onus to defeat Harimoto is on Wang Chuqin and Lin Shidong. They're the ones that'd play Harimoto and Matsushima. After all, they're the top two players. Liang Jingkun is there for stability, leadership (...
  5. WTT Contender Taiyuan-2026 (7 - 12 April 2026)

XP has largely been disappointing, that I agree with. But don't get ahead of yourself with Ruibo, he hasn't shown that extra finesse / X-factor that WCQ's game possesses. He was lost in the matches against Felix and LYJ. That's a bad sign.
  6. ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2026, 3/30-4/5

Surprised mr k-99 is mute about that. Actually not suprising tbh. Turns out the Japanese are free to take locker room breaks too, who would've guessed that 😳😧😮
  7. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

Wang should have at least 10 matches against Lin. They've been going up against each other since their junior years.
  8. Thread about Japanese Players

Life throws out so many strange twists, turns and outcomes after leading people on for so long. The Harimoto siblings were thought of and heralded as the ones to finally break the Chinese stronghold on the sport for good, and establish a new dynasty. But looking at the results they've got, and...
  9. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

More matches for the top Chinese against atypical opponents trend easier generally, there'd be the once in a while scare of course. But a 80%+ WMY/SYS is beating anyone 9/10 times
  10. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

I'm confident in form Wang + Lin beats in form Lebrun brothers. I think China has no choice but to play WCQ in the 3 disciplines. Yes, he'll be spent and beat up. But he'll have enough time to rest before and after the Olympics. Doing otherwise is practically giving up whichever event he skips.
  11. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

All these "call FZD" chants are funny to me. It's quite obvious that the national team is in the past for him, and he just wants to play profitable enjoyable TT without the burden of the CNT on his neck. I say the CNT give him the cold shoulder and focus on getting LSD or even LJK/ZQH (in the...
  12. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

Just to be clear, the claim Tony made was that during their young years, WCQ was scheduled to face YZY in a regular friendly match, And the coach told Wang that if he loses, the team would have to do exercises/push-ups. Sure it's a strange thing to propose, and there are questions of conflict...
  13. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

Lin Shidong loses to anyone playing inspired table tennis these days. Things are not looking good because I foresee his ranking dropping drastically over the course of this year. Who knows what his ranking is gonna prior to the Olympics. Who plays second singles? I don't think CYY's performance...
  14. Singapore Smash 2026, Singapore, 2/19-3/1

Didn't watch the match but surprised to hear Yu Ziyang is coaching now? I'm astonished he came back to the team as a coach given the "repression" allegations we've heard from Mr Agent.
