  1. MA LONG - THE GOATEST of all GOATS

Not taking anything away from Xu Xin; he's an amazing player, but Ratingscentral (the site with the most comprehensive results data) has their record at Ma 45:13 Xu somehow. It's missing a few WTT results though, so not 100% accurate either.
  2. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

Which one is the greater comeback? Ito/Mizutani trailing 2-9 and 6-10 in the 7th and winning 16-14 in the end, or Jeoung Youngsik trailing 4-10 when down 1-3 in sets, then going all the way to win 14-12 in the 7th? Surely it must be Jeoung's comeback?
  3. Should homemade blades be banned ?

Completely agree. I don't think it can actually be implemented though, the scale of that project would be too big considering the millions of blades currently in circulation and would cost too much for companies. If it somehow does get implemented, this would be one of the worst examples of the...
  4. Blade Makers' Challenge: Jin Sukizawa's blade

And as for the potential export&import concerns of CITES endangered wood species that Music&Ping mentioned earlier: I looked up that list, and Wenge is not on the CITES list of protected species, so that wouldnt be an issue even if Der Echte needs to take it out of the country at some point. I...
  5. Blade Makers' Challenge: Jin Sukizawa's blade

And finally, here it is: It came out to right around 100 grams. I'm pleased that I was able to follow all of Der Echte's required specs (in terms of handle size, blade size, and weight) without something going wrong that would've forced me to deviate from them a bit. Here are the other...
  6. Blade Makers' Challenge: Jin Sukizawa's blade

Since the TTD website was down, I realized I would've had no way to get Der_Echte's shipping address if it never came back up, and I was panicking that I was in serious danger from Goon Squad attacks. Luckily it came back up, and I can finally post some updates. I'm on the final steps of...
  7. Blade Makers' Challenge: Jin Sukizawa's blade

Interesting. I would be concerned for Stiga then, as they have an entire blade series that uses Wenge. Its the Nostalgia blades. Its not just the handles, but the top plies of the blades as well. I would expect that series to fade away soon
  8. Blade Makers' Challenge: Jin Sukizawa's blade

Moving on to the next steps: one ingredient for the handle will be Wenge wood, and the other material, as I said earlier, will be a surprise. Maybe those who follow my Instagram closely might get a hint of what kind of material it could be sooner than those who don't.
  9. Blade Makers' Challenge: Jin Sukizawa's blade

We're almost ready to cut this one into shape, it's currently undergoing the gluing process. Here's whats in it. The fiber I'm using is Innegra-carbon (IGC) which is a very unique fiber that only SDC and I are familiar with it seems. Top ply is Lutz spruce. The spruce-IGC combo has one of the...
  10. Blade Makers' Challenge: Jin Sukizawa's blade

For Der Echte's blade making challenge, I'll attempt to create the most unique blade possible, the likes of which could never even be imagined. Latest update: I've used quite a few bizarre secret techniques before, but this time I thought I'd gamble and put a coin inside the blade and...
  11. Blade Makers' Challenge - Custom Der_Echte Blade Requirements

Cool. Will send PM to Der Echte by tomorrow with email and asking price.
  12. Blade Makers' Challenge - Custom Der_Echte Blade Requirements

The funny thing is, the most recent blade I just finished technically fits all the requirements Der Echte requested, even the exact 87mm handle circumference. The 1 and only difference is that it was a flared handle instead of straight.
  13. Blade Makers' Challenge - Custom Der_Echte Blade Requirements

Starting on it today as well. What I'm using on the handle will be a striking surprise.
  14. Jin Sukizawa Blades - Handcrafted

Yea, I use a wood burner. Its basically like a metal tipped pen.
