  1. hi my daughter is 12 soon to be 13 i train her 2-3 times a week each section 2-4 hours.

I agree. Its very easy for any aged player, even long time players, to get into a comfort zone in reading their main practice partner. I find that after playing at a certain club, then going to a different club that I have to adjust my timing to account for the faster play at club #2. I'm almost...
  2. My Top 10 best ALL+/OFF- (low intermediate) table tennis blades in 2026

Andro Kanter CO OFF, factory classified as OFF(duh). Lightest current carbon blade i know of. (68g)
  3. Sleeping after a late TT session

You need to develop your own routine that works for You. And you need to keep to it as closely as you can on non-table tennis nights. As to what that routine is, it is a very individualized thing. Some of the above suggestions are excellent, tho I recommend staying away from the chemical ones...
  4. Marty Supreme table tennis film

One more movie for the seniors: Ping Pong 2012 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2117946/ This is actually a pretty decent documentary. I found myself rooting for and against certain personalities.
  5. Tony has been banned and won't return

Wait a second. You're the guy who is promoting the Enron exec/felon in another thread. And you 'time-outed' Tony??? I never noticed that you're a mod. Curious. Can anyone tell me who exactly owns this forum?
  6. Andy Fastow - former CFO of Enron

Convicted Felon. Massive, MASSIVE fraud. I'm old enough (and was living in Houston at the time) to remember the lives he all but destroyed. I dont think this..........individual........is qualified to use the word 'ethics'.
  7. Overlooked match skills that hold you back

I think that the ability to recognize and analyze your opponent's game/strategy and then disrupt it to your advantage is an underutilized skill at mid levels. Sure, you have to have the physical skills to compete, but remember that there's another player that has a say in what happens to the...
  8. Best (DIY) sponge to apply glue

Yep. I didn't know it was speedglue then, but it did seem to heighten my awareness of the ball's spin. o_O We needed every edge we could get in those days of tiny fast celluloid balls donchaknow. I basically left the game in the early 70's (for another sport, college girls, etc) and didnt...
  9. Best (DIY) sponge to apply glue

Laugh all you want, young'un but that's what we all did back in the late 1960's in my venues. 👨‍🦽
  10. Your set-up when you were a 1300 level player?

Unknown Butterfly 5-ply, then Glen Cowan model paddle (3-ply with a fat balsa inner- very lightweight). Both sides of both Shriver. It was circa 1969 - 1972 iirc.
  11. Anyone play with a total knee replacement?

A 70something friend had a total replacement about a year ago. He was back to normal in (i think) a handful of months (certainly <6). His side to side is as good as it ever was, but again, he's 70+ and probably about 1400-1500US. fwiw, I played low level college hockey which probably took a...
  12. alternatives to tenergy 05

Offhand, I agree that if the upcoming competition matters to you, stay with what you know. But I also understand your price concerns. I use Andro R48 with the ultramax sponge. I wear it out in about 6-8 months. I had heard/read that the Tenergy costs more but lasts much longer so that its...
  13. Call for Awareness and Action | Corruption and Fraud at ITTF/WTT

Call me old fashioned, but I highly doubt challenging the mods and generally being argumentative is going to win you many allies regardless of the conduct of your target. Like UDC said, post in some other topics and let folks get to know you.
  14. Top 5 annoying practice partners

If you find a good practice partner, hold onto him/her like dear life itself. Just finding a practice partner around here is all but impossible ime. Much like JassaTableTennis said, everyone insists on playing matches. (When they REALLY need to practice.)
