  1. What is your second passion?

I love to flyfish for any species whether it be in stillwaters, rivers or the sea. Im based in the London so I need to travel to most of my destinations so it’s normally a weeks trip or so. Ive been to Cape Cod a couple of times on two week fishing trips and I’m currently planning a 50th...
  2. TableTennisDaily Team | Ep 1 | The Beginning

Dan, I really enjoyed watching that. It was a good idea to profile your team mates for the forthcoming season I’m already looking forward to the next episode/match.
  3. I can't put the ball on the table on the beggining of the training session.

Sorry I’ve just read the posts after your initial post . I find the anticipation element that hardest to adjust to as well.
  4. I can't put the ball on the table on the beggining of the training session.

Hi Loopadoop, I play with a robot more than I play at the club due to shift work . I’m having trouble adjusting to playing in a club environment especially if I haven’t been for a while. Can you give any tips to make the adjustment easier ? Thanks.
  5. German Open 2019

The T2 has it spot on in regards to camera angles etc. To be fair it’s the first time I’ve come across this type of glare on recorded images. I’ve pinged an email to ITTF regarding this issue . I’m sure they are aware but it will interesting to see their reply .
  6. German Open 2019

I can’t watch it either due to the glare. It’s nothing to do with the camera. When I watched the World Cup in London a couple of years ago I had to move seats as there was identical glare to what is on the current videos. Just by moving away seat and changing the angles we were watching it it...
  7. England Fraser Riley new commentator

I presume Matthew Syed is concentrating on his journalism and writing career. I heard him the other day on Talksport which is one of the UK’s biggest sport radio station . He’s also just got a new book out which I haven’t read yet, his previous books have been excellent.
  8. Upbeat songs that match tempo of multiball?

Not any particular songs but I do like to listen to house music when training with my robot and training partner . I find the tempo just about right . Not everyone’s cup of tea I admit.
  9. How to implement strategy

I must admit NewTimes OP pricked my ears as spending your early years in billiard halls is something I had done as well from the age of 15 to 19. In fact it became a career so I couldn’t help but to comment and add my tuppence worth as it since it was such a big part of my life. Anyway...
  10. How to implement strategy

No worries Der Echte, thanks for clearing that up. It doesn’t take a lot for me to get confused . Newtimes, sorry if I’ve hijacked your thread. I did initially try to put some comparisons between the sports but as can happen the thread has taken on a life of its own . I can see a forum pool...
  11. How to implement strategy

I’m getting mixed up( I’m from the UK) when you say billiards do you mean pool or snooker ?. Billiards in that UK was a game played before snooker was invented which involved playing with three balls and used to go on for days on end at the higher level!
  12. How to implement strategy

Yeah it’s a great game for sure, just like TT is !. It’s the spin element which I picked up from my early career playing snooker that I find so fascinating now . It’s a lot harder at my age now though to learn and put it into practice on a TT table than it was when I was a 13 year old...
  13. How to implement strategy

Anyway getting back on topic , I actually wrote out another paragraph on my initial post but it disappeared . What I said was that in my experience it’s hard to compare pool/snooker to TT especially the mental aspect as the former is a ‘closed’ sport and the latter is an ‘open’ sport. Saying...
  14. How to implement strategy

I never really saw the States( I guess that’s where your from ) as a snooker playing country tbh. There was a saying at the time I played that if you was good at snooker/pool it was the sign of a misspent youth , meaning that you’ve spent far too much time in the company of shady characters and...
