  1. Xuperman Powerplay-x: A Rubber by Xu Xin

That feels like an easy one to explain right? The Chinese Super League is tougher.
  2. Is Liu Guoliang “fairly” one of the greatest players of all time?

He had legal equipment by the rules. There's no almost about it. Almost isn't cheating. Players today "almost" hide their serves but what really matters is if it's actually hidden or not and if it gets called. He's absolutely, by essentially everyone who follows the sport, considered one of the...
  3. How does TTDSL work as far as team format, points etc?

I help run our local tt club here in the states and I find the TTDSL pretty entertaining. I like the comradery the guys feel playing in a team. To my knowledge, we don't really have team leagues here in the states and TT is very much an isolated, work on your own craft game. That's fine and I...
  4. Anybody Have or Seen A Good Net Post Cap Design For Longevity?

I am contemplating some sort of glue method. While super glue is thin and would for sure practically weld those plastic parts together, problem is that when a net eventually wears out, I'd like to not destroy the post and or cap that I 3d print. I need a glue that's removable but can hold good...
  5. Anybody Have or Seen A Good Net Post Cap Design For Longevity?

I run our local small week club here in the states. One of the biggest rackets in all of table tennis are flimsy net post caps that break or fall out of the posts and you have to buy a completely new new post set for around $70 give or take up or down depending on what you're looking for...
  6. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Got the ever elusive 3-1 victory on the best young player at our club. This was nice as he will quickly become the 2nd best player at our club in probably less than a year. Here he had been serving down the line a lot. I was planning on stepping around that down the line serve and forehanding...
  7. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Welcome. So TT is a life-long sport so don't worry about being 16 playing for the first time. I started when I was in college. Played some buddies there. Then played occasionally in my mid 20s at times. Didn't start playing weekly at a club until I was 30. And all that time prior was shakehand...
  8. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

I should note that I was really bummed to not beat the last guy. Of the group of 4, only the top 1 advances to the final playoff. The guy who beat me took 2nd in the 41-59 and he got to play the guy who took 1st in A singles. That would have been fun just to have that experience to play him...
  9. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

So I've played TPB most of my whole life. Unfortunately I'm 42 and my level of athleticism or movement isn't the same as when I was in my 20s so thus trying to get better at RPB. Certainly there were a higher % of long serves to my BH which i pushed or chopped where as if it was a club night I...
  10. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Well here it is. The recap of all my singles matches from 8/14. Win or lose. It's in here. What happened? Guess you'll have to watch to find out. All matches condensed down to a 8:45 video. PS - Still trying to gain confidence with my RPB. I've been committed to it for probably 2 months not...
  11. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Got a tournament coming up in a week. Thankfully I'm playing some of my best TT I think I ever have so I'll be ready. Been a long journey but what has helped me the most as of recent are these things. 1) Stop switching styles & equipment. Yes I know this should be obvious but I've played just...
  12. MA LONG - THE GOATEST of all GOATS

Haven't you heard in Jeppe? In today's binary thinking society, you can only be one or the other. Furthermore, if you're for one thing, you must by rule hate the other. That's how it works. :p ps - Congrats to Ma Long. Nobody can touch what he has achieved.
  13. Hardbat > Long Pips? Hardbat concept/tips wanted

Quick tidbit about my game: Left handed traditional penholder. Play inverted on the FH side and over a number of years have played sometimes inverted on the RPB. Mostly long pips on the RPB side (1.0 DHS C8) where I'd chop and/or twiddle when necessary. While I like some of the tricky aspects...
  14. Does tacky rubber slow down improvement?

So I have some thoughts on this as it's a recent thing going on in my game but first I'd like to address a different question. Based on your OP, I count 7 coaches and/or pros who have told you to do something different than what you are doing. I don't think there's an experienced forum member...
  15. Tack of the rubber gone

I've tried Falco long before and I'll use it if I find a rubber's sponge particularly hard just to soften it but I don't do it regularly. While boosting is nice, I think it's a little overrated. Yes it helps. But we're talking 5% at most. So I don't regularly boost and it plays fine.
